Can my kids share?

Question about the DDP...when we go, my two girls will be 5 and one month away from being 4. They will never eat all that food, BUT, we think it will be beneficial if they can share. Can we do this? This is what I mean:

DD5 and DD3 will each have 7 TS and 7 CS, equalling 14 child's meals (they will each eat a snack, so I'm discounting those)

they should be able to share lunch and dinner, so we will only use 7 of each, rather than the 14. Can they use the other 7 for breakfasts? The adults would not be able to eat off the kid's credits, right? And we can not buy DDP for only one of our daughters if they are both staying in the room, is that right as well?

I think I just confused myself. LOL.

yes, the girls would be able to share a breakfast for one cs credit and share a lunch for the other cs credit and then each have a ts credit for dinner or they can also share a dinner credit and save one for a 2ts credit dining location.

Yes, we did that when my twins were younger.. we always seemed to have quite a few CS left over at the end of our trip.. The last few times they eat their own.. their taste are so different now they can't share.. :confused3

Yes. And no, the child credits need to be used for the children not adults. Everyone staying in the room must be on the same plane. THe exception with sharing is buffets. They will both be charged a child credit for those.

Hope that helps.

Have you used the kids meals at Disney before? They are not very large, in our experience especially the counter service meals. Like the fruit sides--4 apple slices (so maybe 1/2 of a small apple) Just so you know (and sure there are little ones with teeny-tiny appetites.:thumbsup2)

Anyway, they can split a counter service meal for breakfast, and then split lunch at counter service...so the total counter service credits between them will cover both their lunch & dinner.

But keep in mind at your table service meals, there's no sharing at buffets or family-style meals. So if you're doing character buffets, or places like 'Ohana & Garden Grill it will take one credit per child no matter how much or how little they eat.

Thanks guys. I knew about the rule, re: buffetts, so I'd figured for that.

We have a whole year before we go, so it might change a little, but right now when we go out to eat they share a kid's meal and don't even eat the whole thing. They eat like little birds. :)

They can share with you and you can share with them and they can share with each other except buffets.

The only policy rules are that you can't share with someone NOT on the dining plan (your reseravation), you can't use child credits to get adult food (unless at a CS with no kids meal), and everyone pays at buffets.

When we went in 2011...we had extra adult TS credits b/c DH left a couple of days before DS and myself. At Sci Fi-DS, DH, and I shared and adult TS plus ordered a burger and app OOP. At Le Chefs, DS and I shared an adult TS credit.

We used extra CS credits for the car ride home, breakfast, snacks (we were allowed to get three snacks for CS then).

DSiL and I went in October and we shared a TS meal on the DxDDP. We used one credit for dinner at Kona Cafe. We ordered the crab cakes appetizer (2 cakes, 1 for each of us) and the teriyaki sirloin for our entree. We cut the steak in half and split the veggies that came with it. Then, we had a torte for dessert and shared that. DSiL just drinks water with her meals so I got a soda. We walked away stuffed! All for just one credit:thumbsup2.

My DD's (currently 8 and 6) shared CS meals on our last trip too. They are generally good eaters, but they just didn't have the attention span to stop and eat:hyper:. We'd let them split a CS meal so they didn't have to eat too much. Then, later we'd stop and get them another one to share to "finish" their meal.

I was going to add that my son (5) likes some adult food...but he doesn't have a huge appetite.

My DH and I (especially DH) have been known to like "kid" food (uncrustables, chicken nuggets, etc.)...a few times DS and I shared an adult CS and then used the kid CS as "snacks."
