Can my DGD spend Disney Dollars on the DCL?

My DGD is going on a cruise in a couple weeks with her other grandparents and I was thinking of getting her some Disney Dollars to spend. I guess she can use them on the cruise, can't see?

Since the ship is "cashless", she would charge items on her KTTW (Key to the World) card and then apply the Disney Dollars at Guest Services to the room account. Not very exciting for her but that is how Disney Dollars would work on the ship.

She could use them to pay off a stateroom balance, but she can't use them to spend like cash on the ship, only because you don't use cash on the ship. It is a great gift idea!
