Can my credits be shared with my DH?

For our upcoming November trip, 6 nights at AKL, my DH has 2 days left on an old PH (he never goes to park with us every day). I want to add the DDP, but I'm afraid we won't use all of the credits because we won't be onsite all 6days. We plan to spend one day SW and one day at KSC. I currently have a MYW package with 2 day park hoppers for myself, DH, and DS (10). But I was thinking, should I take DH off the package, add the DDP for myself and DS. Then when we eat onsite I could use the dining credits for all 3 of us. Is anything wrong with me sharing my credits with DH? Sorry if this sounds confusing. I need help from all you DDP pros.

You won't be able to at the table service - they go according to how many are listed on the card so if it says 2A you could use 2 adult meal credits and not three.

For counter service you can go through the line more than once - that is no problem and they don't seem to mind how many snacks you use at one time at all.

Not sure if they changed it or not. We are DVC members and sometimes the rules are different for us (or really different for non DVC members.)

Anyway it used to be that every member of the party had to get the plan for the whole length of time (not the last day if you want.) I know sometimes you only have to buy one day of tickets if you have an AP already if you wanted to get free dinning. The only exception was under 3 years old.

If you are not eating at TS restaurants every day then the DDP may not be the best value for you.

You have 6 days and 5 nights I am assuming. Two of the days you're off site, so you only have 4 days of eating TS at Disney.

If you eat at one signature restaurant and 3 regular TS restaurants you'll use all 5 of your dining credits, and that may be a good value.

My best advice is to check out the menus online and see what you think you'd order if you were paying OOP. Add on an 18% tip and 6.5% tax to that total OOP cost. By looking at the numbers you can see which way you'd pay less.

Here's the relevant rule, prohibiting guests from using Dining Plan credits for folks other than those registered for it:

No you are clearly not allowed to do that, but further more you say you are taking your husband off the package, does that mean you are taking him out of the room as well? because everyone in the room must be on the package and on the dining plan if you get the dining plan.

Maybe you misunderstood me, Mickiethepooh. I was only thinking of taking DH off the pkg, I didn't want to do anything wrong. I just didn't understand how the credits can be used.
Thanks Tricia, that's a good idea. I think I'll add up the cost of our onsite meals and see if it's cheaper to get the DDP vs. OOP.

It sounds as if the DDP would not work well for you since everyone on your reservation has to be on the DDP for the entire stay, and each has to initially buy the same type ticket. Between those two things AND spending time off site, seems like you would just be better off paying OOP.

Sorry if I sounded like I was implying anything I was not, I just wanted you to be aware that everyone in the room would have to be on or off the plan.
