Can my 10 and 11 year old share with DDP?

Today I booked free dining for myself and my 3 daughters. The younger two I know cannot eat a full adult size meal. My question is can they split a meal using one table service credit? I know they can't for character meals but what about other places?

Not everyone at the table has to use a credit every time you sit down. So yeah, one child can order a meal, the other child can order a cash coke. They can then split the food.

Actually, there have been some recent threads that Disney is no longer allowing people to share Dining credits. I know how you feel, my 10 year old and 12 year old had a hard time eating all that food. But we didn't share because we realized eventually we would have a surplus of credits and didn't want to waste them. We often did not order appetizers for everyone or dessert either for that matter. And we generally could get by sharing cs meals, sometimes two for breakfast, then two for lunch then all four of us getting our own dinner. The DDP is a huge amount of food no doubt. If you are thinking to share so that you don't waste food, just order the components of meals that your kids will eat. But I don't think they are letting people share to conserve credits (some people do this so that they can have more full service meals or 2 ts meals without using too many credits and I would assume Disney does not like that, hence the crackdown on sharing).

I was just there in March on the dining plan and there was no problem with sharing of credits.

The only difference from previous trips was that they now split the adult and child TS credits, instead of grouping them all into one total TS amount.

It is still an open question AFIAC. In writing, Disney is still providing a consistent message: "sharing is not permitted" on the Dining Plan. In actuality, each restaurant seems to be waiving that rule for its guests. However, since the written policy seems to be consistent, just be prepared in case restaurants start enforcing it that way.

I'm disappointed to hear that this may not be allowed. I was hoping that we could share for at least one meal, then use the extra credits for HDDR. I suppose we could just not have a TS meal one day (maybe our AK day) and use that extra credit for HDDR.
