I need to book one night with one membership and the rest with our other. Can they link the one night to the other nights or should we transfer the points to the other membership? Thoughts?? THANKS

They linked for me(same room category) with no problem. But if u add the meal plan or magicaexpress they have to be added to both reservations. Not a big deal at all. But if I had to do it over I would have transferred the points and book under one membership.

They can link them but if you have the option of transferring the points from one membership to the other my advice is do it. I've had to do this before & although the reservations were linked it caused all kinds of problems with housekeeping & room keys (you'll get 2 sets of MBs if you have 2 reservation numbers). You also might have to check out & check back in. Make it easy on yourself & transfer the points so you have one continuous stay on one membership.

What does "linking" mean to you? They can make sure you don't have to move to a different room, but you'll still need to check out and check back in on the morning of your second reservation.

I just don't want to have to move rooms. That is what linking means to me.

From my experience, my answer is maybe.

They will tell you the reservations have been linked and you can check 3 times before your trip and even do online check in that covers your whole stay. So you think all is good.

Then when you get to the front desk, they have your check-out day something other than what you know it should be. You will produce your linked paperwork and they will be surprised, but they pleasantly type the information into their computer and send you on your way.

On the final night of the first reservation, when you are returning to your room exhausted, your Magic band will not work requiring a trip to the front desk. And actually 4 trips one night.

This has happened so many times I have lost count and I regret buying two use years.

The safest answer is to do the transfer.

I posted on this recently here, received 2nd response from DVC via email indicating my reservations were linked, would retain separate reservation numbers due to using two different contracts and we "should be able to remain in the same room".

the next time around I will transfer the points.
