my daughter has a kodac easy share, i am getting a canon s2. both use sd memory cards...i am buying a 1 g card for the canon but can she use it in her camera for a trip she is taking? she just wants to have an extra card since she will be some place with out electricity for almost 2 wks and wants to be able to take more pictures than her card holds but doesn't want to buy another card( since she really normally doesn't need any more memory than she has on her one card.) if she used mine could i use it again in my camera after she downloads her pictures or is it not a good idea to use 1 card in different cameras?
Thanks

if you format it in camera before use, it should be OK, however I have read of people having problems when they do that so it's an iffy kind of thing..

I've been exchanging cards between my A80, A95, 300D, 10D, 20D, 30D and 5D. As long as you format BEFORE you use the card (insert card, go to menu, choose format), then you should be okay. I've been doing it for the past 3+ years with no problem whatsoever.

Absolutely. I "lent" a CF card to a fellow photographer for a day last week when he realized he had left two of his at home. I use a Nikon, he shoots with a Canon, he just had to format it in his camera and it worked jsut fine. When he gave it back the nexxt day I formatted it in my camera and tried it out a bit on crowd shots, no problem! :)

:wave2: I exchange my card between a Pentax MX and my Canon A610 all the time...

:confused3 I never format it though... I even leave pictures on it and put it into the other camera...
I've taken pictures with my Pentax and then uploaded the pics to my computer with my Canon (since I like the Canon uploading tool)...
I've been doing this for about a year now, and have had no problems... Could this present a problem in the future?

In theory it may create problem, but if it hasn't created any problem, then I don't think it will ever create a problem. Maybe both cameras use the same header system.

great! thanks for the help
