I have seen an item on the internet I would like to have sent to my wdw hotel, is it ok to do this or should I call them in advance to arrange it?

Is the item you've "seen on the internet" being sold or offered by Disney? Or are you asking; is it all right to have packages sent to guests (including yourself) prior to arrival?

The item is not a disney item and what I am asking is - "is it all right to have packages sent to guests (including me) prior to arrival?" I live in the Uk so I can save on postage if I have it sent to the hotel!!

OK, I think I understand - and yes, it's fine to do that. If you're ordering from the seller and asking to have it shipped to your (the) hotel, just make certain that it is noted on the outside of the package that the addressee is a guest & what the guest's checkin date is.
