Can I vent about how much I hate my school?

I am sooooo mad right now. This is my schools "spirit week" where each grade is assigned a color and we do various things to get points.Those points add up on Wednesday and they declare a winner of spirit week (which is always the seniors, I'm a senior by the way). Last night we decorated the hallways for each grade. We've been bringing in canned foods for needy people, and whatever grade has the most gets points. Our school got over 7,000 cans. Well today was the volleyball game between the juniors and seniors. The whole school attends. During the game a junior threw a frisbee onto the gym floor. The principal told us if anyone threw anything else, that section of the bleachers would have to leave. 20 minutes later someone throws something else. The principal cancels the ENTIRE game, throwing everyone out of the gym. We didn't really care though. Later on the juniors trashed the seniors hallway. Completely trashed it. The principal then cancels spirit week, makes everyone tear down EVERYTHING. All the money people spent on the decorations and time spent, wasted. He then says the pep rally for tomorrow is canceled. So all the clothing we bought specifically for that day is wasted too. All because the trashy juniors got out of hand, they ruin it for EVERYONE. This was my last spirit week and I was looking forward to it. And now they can't have any future pep rallies I think, I'm not sure. I feel so bad for the underclassmen, and for my grade. It really isn't fair, my school is so messed up.

Sorry, I just had to vent.

That is really crappy.

I think that the principal made a decision in the heat of the moment and will come to regret it.

The Junior Class should have been punished and not allowed to participate in the activities but I don't think the other 3 grades should also have to take the fall.

I'm very sorry for you. Can you call him still at school and ask him to rethink his decision and maybe have Spirit Week, without the Juniors, when you come back from Thanksgiving Break?

BTW, that's great news on the canned food collection!

Now that I've had time to cool off, I'm feeling a better My principal is still nuts (I'm not just saying that because of what happened, this doesn't even compare to some of the stuff he's pulled before), and I decided I'm not going to school tomorrow. It's only a half day, and I want to start my break happy, not getting into fights with the juniors.

nativetxn, sometimes I feel so ready for graduation and just want to get out of my school...but other times it's scary to think about. I've been sending out college applications, dying to know if I get into my college of choice.

Glad to hear that you're feeling better! I think that it is great that your school collected that many cans! That will feed so many people!

So, I take it you have narrowed it down to one favorite college? My DD is a Junior in HS. (Oh no! A Junior! But I swear she doesn't go to your school!)
She's still deciding on whether she wants to go away for college or attend the University here. We actually have several good colleges/universities within a 50 mile radius. She has a year to think about it.

So - you're playing hookey tomorrow, eh?

Your principal kinda sounds like mine though. Our high school and our rival high school switched principals this year - and I think we got the bad end of it.. The new principal is HORRIBLE. He cancelled the senior class' BIGGEST event of the year.. isn't sure about our Powderpuff Game.. and is SO picky. It's the worst, I definitely know what you're going through!

the prinicpal shouldn't have cancelled the whole thing, that was WRONG!

lol...our prinicipal just has an obsession with keeping the cafeteria clean it's like the funniest thing EVER! the assignant prinicpals push around trashcans at lunch so we can all throw our trash away
