I know the US is a civilised country, where I can buy perfectly normal washing powder but I was just wondering if any of you had brought their own on holidays?
We're staying at Disney CSR and are planning on doing 2 loads while we're there, just so we can pack less and buy more while we're there ;-)

I just don't want to ruin the washers just in case our powder isn't compatible with their top loading machines.

I have taken a few of those liquid tabs before to get me going and not had a problem. Just make sure they are well wrapped :)

I always take my own soap powder hubby has alergies have had no problem at all

Thank you :)
Do you just use the regular dosage recommended for one (UK) load?
We live in a very hard water area, so maybe I should use a bit less than what I use at home...

I just used 1 tab. I find the washers wash the clothes very 'hard' if you know what I mean - so be careful with delicates.

WDW sell a 1 dose pack of wash powder, such as Tide in the laundrettes from the vending machines if that helps.

if CSR is anything like POR then you will find that they have the normal top loading washers which do wash things hard but they also have a couple of front loaders like ours in the UK which I treat exactly the same and I use UK tabs in them. :)

I have always taken my own for allergy reasons too. I take the solid tablets and just break them up a bit before putting in bottom of top loading machine. I use 2 tablets in my front loader at home but the top loaders hold so much more that I use 3 tablets in those.

I've taken my own tumble drier sheets too - but I took quite a few of these as I like to share the washing between 2 or 3 driers if they are available. (As well as taking loads of cheap plastic hangers to dry t-shirts in the room - we've stayed at ASSp and ASMu which have open hanging rails perfect for drying shrinkable clothes in about a day.)
