Can I use my husbands magicband?

So this may seem weird but, we have already purchased our tickets through the YES program. Since then, there have been some changes. Now my DH and oldest DD have to fly back early due to DD's sport.

So my DH and oldest DD will have one more park day on their band, can me and my other daughter use their bands into go in the park for an extra day?

No. If you attempt this, you will be denied entry. Partially used tickets are nontransferable, and that is why they require the finger scan at the gates.

If someone in your party has fast passes on their magic band scheduled for a certain day but then they are not feeling well and do not actually go to the park (so they do not scan their magic band at the entrance), can you still use their fast passes or does it recognize that they never entered the park?

If you use your husbands magicband at the beginning of the trip with your fingerprint and he uses yours then his MB and its data would be attached to you. I assume that this would work.

From what i understand FP's are not active until that magicband is scanned for entry. Now if that party were to enter the park then go back to the room while leaving his magicband with you then that might be an option. If staying on site they would have to get back into the room somehow.

For park entrance, no. You won't pass the finger scan, and you can't transfer partially used tickets.

Well, the band is assigned to him. You can't reassign the band to her. I'm not sure how it works with linking unused tickets, especially special items like YES tickets. You'd have to link the longer ticket to her account and not his.

Yes, you can you the FP+s attached to their MB even if it was not used to enter the park (at least as of 6/10/14).

It still wouldn't work. If they all have 3 day tickets and 2 fly back early, then the 2 who stay use their three and the other two MBs still would have a ticket on them. If they are linked by fingerprint, she still couldn't use them, even if they "reassigned" the MBs at the beginning.

O.K. I get it, kind of stinks since I paid for them, and it is my family. I wonder if I asked at guest services if we could do this, it is worth a shot. Although, the more I think of it, we use fingerprints at work to punch in out and quite frankly they do not work accurately and we always have to take that into account when doing payroll. Some peoples fingerprints just do not registrer, and we have to change, the sensitivity level to non-existant. So basically, they think we are using their fingerprint but, in reality they are just going through the motions.

Unless Disney has closed the loophole, you should be able to use your husband's and child's FP+ reservations, even though they are back home. We have been able to do this on our last 3 trips - every trip, someone wants to sleep in and the rest of us have been able to utilize the FP+ reservations on their magic bands, even though they are back at the resort. It has not mattered for the FP+ reservations that the magic band wasn't used for park admission.

The last time we did this was in April - Disney may have closed this loophole by now. Just take their magic bands with you and give it a try. Worst case scenario is that you don't get the green mickey head when you try to use the FP+.

I have found that Disney is willing to work with you when there's a situation. Why not call and ask? Be sure to say that you know the policy but that you were hoping that maybe someone could help. Don't get mad if/when they say no and definitely don't expect that they will be able to do something. The only thing you lose is some time for the phone call.

Once you hit 4 or 5 days, the remaining days are only around $10 per day. Versus paying $100 for a 1 day ticket. That's why they don't allow tickets to be transferred. You can upgrade the tickets you have for the extra day, it's around $10 plus tax.

Just chalk it up as a small loss. I've had to leave an unused day on a couple tickets before. Do something other than a main park if you and your other child have an extra day. Water park? Disney Quest? Mini-golf and lunch at resort?

Asking won't do any good. Tickets are non-transferable, it says so all over the place. They won't make an exception because it's your family.

Unless Disney has changed their policy since April, you certainly can use FP+ reservations on a magic band that hasn't been used for entrance. We did this in November, December and in April. It did work - we have done it. It may have changed since April, but as of our spring break trip, it did work.

At any rate, the consensus is that it is unlikely that you will pass the finger scan. You can try, but if you can't pass the scan you will not be permitted to enter the park, because the tickets aren't transferable.

Yes you paid for them, but Disney's rules are that tickets and MBs are not transferable.

You're gonna be hard pressed to use their magic bands to enter the park.

However, from what I've read, you do not need to use the MB to enter the park in order to use the FP. This is has been reported by users on here, at least, that entrance is not necessary like with the old FP system. I could be wrong.

Disney may close this loophole at any time though.

If your ticker is correct and you booked a package, just call and have the tickets reduced to the number of days your husband and daughter need. Then you can upgrade the tickets to the number of days you and your other daughter need when you get there. There is no penalty for package changes made this far out. Guest services will not allow you to use their tickets, nor should they.

ETA: sorry, I forgot you were using YES tickets. Those are typically pretty strict, and only good for certain dates (can you even use it for an extra day??). Good luck with asking guest services to bend the rules, but have a back up plan in place if/when they say no.
