Can I use DME if I rent a car?

So as to not have to worry about our luggage. DH overpacks and I really dont want to have to get our bags and take to the car. I know its being lazy but also I wanted to "check out" DME with the luggage time.

The FAQ from Disney explains that you cannot use the inbound Magical Express luggage transfers if you're not using the Magical Express motor coach transportation. They enforce this by not releasing your luggage from the airport until you are scanned onto the motor coach.

There's better news for your return trip. The FAQ from Disney explains that if your airline participates in Resort Airline Check-in, you can get your boarding pass and check your luggage all the way to your home airport -- regardless of what transporation you are using to get to the airport.
