Can I use a Disney Store gift card in Disney World?

I received a Disney Store gift card when I got my Disney Visa. I'd like to use it on our trip. Do any of the stores at WDW accept it?

The CM's at the Disney Store told me I couldn't but told me to use my gift card to buy Disney Dollars at the store. So that is just what I did. I hope this helps.

Definitely use the gift card to buy Disney Dollars. Note that the Belz outlets also take Disney Dollars.

That's what we did. Use the Disney Visa to buy Disney gift cards. Use gift card to buy Disney Dollars. Get reward points for buying gift cards!

oogieboogie, I'm guessing you can't go directly from "a" to "c" and just buy the Disney dollars on the Visa? Or doesn't that earn you reward dollars? I'm curious why it's a 3-step process. .

Disney Store gift cards are only good at Disney Stores and Disney Store online. My sister wanted to buy my DD a gift card to use at WDW, but I told her they are not valid there. Disney Dollars are better.

Thanks ceroarty and oogieboogie. I "cashed" the Disney Store gift card in today for Disney Dollars. Perfect solution! You're right, Tinkerbell58, the Disney dollars are better for WDW than the gift card. I'm glad I asked here. Thanks again
