Can I update tickets while at the parks?

I posted a couple of weeks ago about debating on whether we would need park hopper tickets. We plan to go for 2 days - the 1st day at Disneyland and the 2nd day at CA. It is my understanding that there is much more to do at Disneyland and we may want park hoppers for that reason. Is it possible to just purchase the one park per day tickets and then see how things go? I'm assuming we would be fine the first day since we plan to stay at Disneyland. But then if we realize on day 2 that we want to go back to Disneyland, could we upgrade at that point?

First, when you add a park hopper to a multi-day ticket, it’s the same price whether you add it the first day or the last day. It’s not prorated. So if you’re going to get park hoppers you might as well get them the first day.

Second, waiting until you’re at the park is risky because they will only let you upgrade if park hopper reservations are available. I’m not sure when you’re going but if it’s a busy time you might not be able to upgrade period.

If it were me, I’d buy the park hopper now if I think I want it.
