Can I treat others with my dining plan?

It looks like we will have meals that we won't be able to use on our next trip because we get in late on arrival day and leave early on check out day. We will be dining with another family while at WDW, can I pay for a table service for 8 when there are 4 of us on the plan? Will they deduct the extra meals or will that be a problem? I am pretty sure that I could do it with no problem at a QS but I don't want to make any promises that I can't keep.

Food service credits can be co-mingled with those listed on the reservation, but NOT shared with anyone not listed on your plan.

This is very specific on any literature you read associated with the dining plan that you receive at check-in.

Sorry, no you will not be able to do it for either TS or CS.

They only allow you to get the maximum of people on the KTTW card. So if you have 4 in your party, you will only be able to get 4 meals at a time.

Thanks everyone for the help. I think last time we had an extra QS meal and they let us trade it for snacks to take home with us. Or I might just use it for lunch and take it with us to the airport.

Here's the exact quotation from the Disney Dining Plan brochures:

Q. Can I use my Disney Dining Plan to redeem meals for friends or family members who
are not included in my reservation or have not purchased a Disney dining plan?
A. Sorry, you may not use your Disney Dining Plan to redeem meals for friends or family
members who are not included in your reservation or have not purchased a Disney
dining plan.

Going by Disney's rules, you can't buy meals for the other family using your credits.

Nope, cannot be done.

Your meal credits are co-mingled on all 4 cards.

Whether you use your husband's card or your card, 4 TS will be taken off that "account" - not off that particular card. It comes off all 4 cards at one time.

There is no way around it, you cannot share meals with people who are NOT listed on your reservation.

You can try all you want to try to beat the system, you won't be able to do it.

Let's be clear here, I am not trying to beat any system. I am simply asking if it is possible to do. I see now that it is frowned upon by Disney and I now have my answer.

Interesting question. I was wondering if I could order an extra entree at one meal. I planned more table service meals than I did quick service and will have extra credits. I wondered if lets say I went to Wolfgang Puck express with my son(we are both on DP), we would be allowed to order 3 entrees and split one as an appetizer to use up the credits. Would that be allowed?

No, if there are two of you on the plan you won't be able to order more than two meals.

Posting about other use of credits will be deleted per the DIS Restaurant Board's policy regarding the rules of the dining plan.

We had extra CS credits left over last week and only at the food court were we able to get 3 snacks for 1 CS credit - but it had to be a fresh food item, we couldn't get pre-packaged like crackers, popcorn or candy - it was mostly the bakery items, fruit and such. This was at Pop Century.
