Can I switch (or cancel) my travel agent after booking on board?

I know I've seen this questions asked so I apologize but I searched and just can't find it.

My in-laws booked our last trip with their TA so when I booked on board they asked if I wanted to use the same TA and I said sure. After following up with my father-in-law and hearing they got no on board discounts or benefits I don't really see the point to use the same TA.

I would either like to someone else where I may receive some financial benefit or just handle it all myself.

Thanks in advance!

The TA that currently controls the reservation would have to agree to release it back to DCL. Some will do this, many won't.

I just booked last week (while on board), so I'm still within the 30 days. I guess what I will do is contact the existing TA and have her release the reservation then see about adding one afterwards.

Just a quick update but I called DCL to see exactly what they needed from the TA we booked under to release the ressie and they went ahead and did it for me without notification from the TA since I just got off the boat and booked less than a week ago. They made sure to let me know it was a special circumstance and not the normal process but they were able to take care of it for me.

If you want to transfer to another TA, you must do it within 30 days of the booking. Most won't give full OBC for a transfer.
