Just wanted to put a little update for those of you who care. And those of you who don't tough, read it anyhow. lol As you can see I am feeling a little more like myself, which is not such a good thing most of the time.

I saw a commercial yesterday for a shampoo that starts with a PAN.... It said guaranteed to make hair 50% thicker. Well I tried it and nothing. Not one hair on my head is thicker. Of course I only have 3 or 4 hairs, but they are not thicker. I want my money back!

I am still off chemo. The wound is healing better but still 7 cm deep and 4 cm wide. I see the surgeon on Monday and the Oncologist on Thursday. If they don't see major improvement in healing they will discuss possible surgery to remove the reconstruction. Oh well, at least I got a flat stomach out of all of this, I might as well have a flat chest too.
The Oncologist wants to start me back on Chemo in December but my counts are still very low. He expected them to get back up to the 13,300 they were when I started chemo, but instead they have gone down another 200 since last week. Right now my counts are 7,600 and that was with them holding Chemo for 4 weeks already. He feels that I might be the one in 1000 who need hospitalization after each chemo because I just can't seem to build up the WBC's on my own.
I am waiting for authorization from the insurance for Anespa. That is a stronger type of Procrit medication which will help me build up the WBC's, but it is over $6,000 per shot. I will get one each week and the Dr has to get insurance approval for it. Thank God I have a good insurance plan, I haven't had to pay for anything, and everything has been so outrageous.
I am so bored. Have any of you ever thought you would hear me say I wish I was working? My life consists of having the nurses sit with me while I shower, then they do the dressing change. Then I sit in my bedroom watching TV or doing needlepoint. Then the nurse comes back later in the day for another dressing change. Then I watch TV and do needlepoint.
Then I go to bed. What a life. And I have at least 5 more months of this.
Well thanks for reading. I will keep you posted on the Dr's decisions next week.
Have a great Thanksgiving, I am looking forward to a BIG meal that I don't have to cook, and no chemo to make me nauseous.
Peggie

Great to hear a post from you....you ARE more like your usual ornery self....I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

You are bored? Maybe you should take up a hobby....I know...what about collecting Disney pins? I crack myself up!!!!!

HOWEVER, maybe I will send up my pin collection (many, many boxes of pins) and have you sort them for me. I am quite sure I have many a double.

Love you! HUGE hugs!

I'm not sure who is trying to be funnier - Peggie or Lynnie :)!? You both win! Peggie, I do care. I don't post much on the Collector's bb, but I do look for something about you &/or from you. Look at the good this week - you'll enjoy Thanksgiving dinner!!

Hey there girlfriend!!!

You are sounding more and more like your perky ol self...I'm lovin it!!!!!!!!!

Hope you continue to do weel, and get to the "mouse's house" soon!! Nothin like a mouse visit to perk you up!!!

Still praying and sending PD!!
Winnie

OK, the old Peggie is back.....watch out! ;)

I think a new hobby is a great idea. However, I wouldn't recommend pin collecting. It's addictive, expensive, and you meet all kinds of weird people who become your dearest friends.

I think you're on to something with your approach to Thanksgiving dinner. Sadly, I went another way. I'm cooking a huge meal, which will make me nauseous, and then I won't eat anything.

And what is up (or down) with your WBCs? Don't these critters realize they are getting between you and a trip to WDW? Don't make me come up there and smack them!

hey... don't knock all the free time!
I wish I had it to read, watch TV or
needlepoint!

I'm really glad you are feeling better!

Keep improving...

and hey, don't worry... the "Mr. Clean
look" worked for Vin Diesel! I hear it is
very fashionable right now! You might
become a movie star!

...ok, bald or not, you're still our friend... a little strange looking with some of those mouse hats you wear, but still our friend!!! Hobbies, huh? you are into so many crafts now, what else could you possibly take on? Talk to you this weekend Peggi... have a wonderful, cookingless Thanksgiving!! Caroline and Roger
