We have only just made our first offer on a dvc resale contract but I am already thinking ahead ;)

Next year is a big year birthday wise, my 30th, my parents 60th and my MIL 60th so we are looking at a big trip. We won't have enough points for a grand villa so looking at a 2 bed and a studio, what I would like to know though is could we ask for the studio to be right next to the 2bed? Is that likely to be honoured? Any experiences of that?

Thanks for your help!

You can ask but it depends on what is available the day you check in. Which resort?

You can request a "travel with" designation to be added to the reservation. We've had that for our last 2 trips, and in the first case, BWV the studios were next to each other, and at VWL one was across the hall from the other. We were very pleased, but it doesn't have to work out that good.

Oops sorry I should have said, this will be for AKL in either a value or standard, to sure if that makes any difference.

The fewer the number of rooms in your room category the harder it will be to book 2 rooms and the harder to get them together.

There are a lot more savanna view room compared to standard and many more than value.

That may be tough for value but should be easy for standard. All you can do is ask and hope for the best.

I've had 2 value villas booked 3 different times since AKV has opened. Each time we were no farther than 1 villa between us, and in the best case we were across the hall from each other. If you can get value villas you are reasonably sure you will be near each other because they all are on the 5th floor on the entrance side of the resort.

In other resorts you can be on different floors!

This. We've gotten regular studios everywhere we go, and we add the "travel with" designation with member services (you have to call them) and we've either been right next to or across the hallway every time. They will try to accommodate you if they can, and get you the closest they can.

We've only done this once, but we also had luck. It was at BCV over Christmas, so a very busy time. We had a 2 bedroom and a studio. They were on the same floor and about 8 doors away from each other. So, not as nice as across the hall, but just fine. Make sure you have member services designate "travel with" on the reservations.
