Can I Really Keep My Mouth Shut For The Next 6 Months? Update 6/4 Link to TR

Glad to see that I am not the only one with a problem, lol. Corrine, now I'm going to have to check out Walmart's section when I go there for groceries this week:)

This week's movie was Lady and the Tramp! The kids have never seen it and I haven't seen it in such a long time so it was a great night! It was just the little ones and myself, DH had to work tonight and Christian was at his second baseball game of the night. I had big plans for the night originally but since Christian had a make up game scheduled last minute after school today those plans went out the window. I was going to make my DH's grandmothers homemade meatballs and then I was going to have the kids help me make fresh pasta. But instead we went with store bought pasta and meatballs, in the end the meal was still delicious and the kids ate every bite on their plate.

We started the afternoon off with crafts, they painted wooden dog plaques and ceramic dogs. They also painted my kitchen table but that wasn't planned, lol. After crafts the kids munched on mozzarella sticks and Caesar salad while I finished up with dinner. Dinner was eggplant parmesan (I made this last night so I could easily heat it up tonight) and spaghetti and meatballs. We also had breadsticks that were supposed to look like bones although only a few came out right, lol. Dessert was spaghetti and meatball cupcakes and tiramisu that I had my DH bring me from his restaurant. After dinner we all got in our pj's, the kids got their sleeping bags and blankets and we settled in the family room to watch the movie.

I don't usually condone this kind of behavior at the dinner table but it was Lady and the Tramp night after all!

Lady and the Tramp is such classic disney... Love it... when we were all little Lady and the Tramp was my little brother's favorite movie he literally watched it until the tape died.. we're talking 4-5 times a day (we didnt have cable growing up so this was on constantly)

I kinda had a theme night myself last night... I bought Harry Potter and made banger and mash and threw on my Hogwarts t-shirt and wielded my Sirus Black wand... it was kinda fun though my dog kept looking at me funny when I tried to cast spells :rotfl:

What's your next night?

I love the "table manners"....:rotfl: very appropriate for Tramp! Hey it is family movie night...all about having fun as a family! I am sure there were lots of laughs!

Love the sleeping bags on the floor! Maybe we should try that tonight...the kids would love it...

As always you inspire me...I did not have Lady and the Tramp down on my list of movies. It just did not have a huge connection once we got into the parks...but I still love the movie. Going to add it to my post disney trip movie night...

Good for you for having your own HP night! I already have plans in the works for a HP theme night around Halloween!

You know I usually have us watch the movie before dinner because my kids go to bed pretty early but it was fun to do the sleeping bags and let them stay up a bit later.

So your going to continue doing your nights after your trip too! I swear it's become pretty sick, I went to Michaels the other day and had to stop myself from buying things for future theme nights.

Have to keep doing the nights...the kids love them (of course we have only done 4)!!!! We don't even have to go out for dinner now on the weekends, cause they want to do this! :cheer2::cheer2:

As for buying things for future nights...I made a purchase off of ebay this week for one in December...have to check out my PTR to see my little find that is now hidden in THE closet in a suitcase!:lmao:

Wondering where you find all your great theme night accessories.
Love the idea of sleeping bags. Looks like they really enjoyed it.

I'm very curious about the cupcakes.... did you get a closeup of them?

How did you make them? They sound really neat!

Loved your theme night as always!!!

Love the game, I'm going to have to try and find me one!

From what I understand they do not make the game anymore...I have been stalking them on ebay for about a month now...finally won one and got it really cheap! I was willing to pay $25 (inlcuding shipping) and I got it for $12.50 (inlcuding shipping).:cheer2:

I am so tempted to open it up and play it some night by myself...:rotfl:

I added a pic of the cupcakes, I can't believe that i forgot to add it earlier. They were so easy to make. I got the recipe from here http://family.go.com/disney/pkg-disney-recipes/recipe-621731-sweetheart-spaghetti-and-meatballs-t/ The recipe called to use fondant for the noodles but I've never used it and thought it may be a little too involved than I wanted, so I just piped icing on as noodles.

Thanks, the kids really did have a great time, getting to stay up late and camp out in the family room was probably their favorite part!

Sadly I am not constantly on the lookout for ideas and things to go with our nights. The Dollar Tree is a great inexspensive place to find things but at ours you almost have to go once a week because things seem to go fast. I also get alot of stuff for crafts in general from Michaels and Walmart.

Purchase two and ship one to me. :thumbsup2:lmao:

What time should I come over to join in the fun?

I had no clue they had a game like that ... and now I want one!

Love your cupcakes!!!! I think using icing would be better than fondant anyway. I'm not a fan of the taste, but I love icing. :lmao:

Me too Lidian, I am now going to be on a mission to find that game!

Thanks about the cupcakes, I'm not a fan of fondant either and I didn't think my kids would be crazy about it so icing was by far the easier and tastier way to go!

Well now it seems that they have extended the hours for some days and nights in May and added Fantasmic to some nights. This I am NOT happy about. I know most people are probably thrilled with a 8am opening at MK but not me when I have planned a 8:05 breakfast at The Crystal Palace. The whole point of my early breakfast was for us to get in the park early so we could get some shots of a nearly empty park in front of the castle. I was really looking forward to this. Now I'm thinking do I really want to be sitting down for breakfast while everyone else is enjoying the benefit of an early opening? So I made another ADR. We now have a ADR at 10:20 for Crystal Palace. I figure this way we are there at 8am, can get in 2+ hours with hopefully low crowds then head over for breakfast. Then around noon if we feel like going back to the resort for a break we are close to the front of the park. If we break we will return around 3pm or so and finish the night out. I also am thinking that with a late ADR for breakfast it should hold us over until dinner.

Another kink in my plans was that on the friday we are going to DHS for SWW they have added a Fantasmic showing. I was happy with no Fantasmic this night because of hopefully lower crowds (although I know there is no such thing as really low crowds with SWW) and I was also looking forward to seeing the characters that come out in the Annimation Building on non Fantasmic nights. After reading peoples TR and seeing them getting to meet some cool characters here I was hoping we could do the same :(

Okay enough whining, I guess I should just be happy I was able to adjust my Crystal Palace, I really lucked out with getting a party of 8 ADR at such a late date. I knew they were changing the opening times in March and April but I was really crossing my fingers that they wouldn't do it in May but oh well.

Well I'm off to the zoo, the kids are on Spring Break this week and we have no big plans so I'm tring to keep them busy. Although we go every year I have never done the National Zoo in Wash DC by myself and the kids. Pray I don't lose any, lol.

:headache::mad:I am mad right along with you about the early morning hours and your ADR! I want to do an early ADR at CP, and that is my worst fear that they will extend hours in the morning. Dang it I want a picture of the castle without peoples hineys:rotfl2: in it!

We love doing later ADR's for breakfast. I think that this will be the best plan since they extended the hours in the a.m. for you--you definitely want to take advantage of early touring hours with low crowds!! And you are right that a later breakfast should pretty much hold you over until dinner. If not, a small snack could help everyone last even longer.

Now I'm off to check off the new hours for the week of our trip. And after I've already printed off copies of spreadsheets and finished my planning journal too :sad2:

You know I'm all for extra time in the parks but what's the point of having us make ADR's 180 days out if they are going to change it up on us? Luckily I have a second day at MK later in the week and we have our BBB appointment at 8:00am on a 9am opening so I should still get my shots!

Thanks for confirming that I did the best thing by changing my ADR. I too was thinking that if breakfast didn't hold everyone over than a snack surely would.

Definately check the times, I got the info off of a thread over in the Theme Parks Attractions and Stragedis section. Someone had posted an updated schedule they go from thier TA.
