bunny? The reason I ask is DH and I just bought our DD a bunny for her b-day. She is so good with him but never wants to stop holding him. Even though we put him on a towel when she holds him I'm afraid his poops may roll away. Anyone ever put a diaper on a bunny so they can hold them longer?

:rotfl: I don't know anything about diapering rabbits, but when I saw the title of this thread I couldn't help but open it. Thanks, I needed that :teeth:.

and we trained him to use a litter box. He was very good about it and he stayed in the house all winter and spring/summer/fall he spent outside. Oh-but do watch your electrical cords, they love to chew them!

Mine never pooped on me he would wiggle to get down and off he'd go to the litter box.

and so was my pet skunk. This was back in the early 60s and this was still legal to have them. Pepe was descented and also fixed. He was a good pet to have. How about a pair of little dollies undies on .I used that when our dog was in heat too

I just had to open this thread too. :teeth:

My only suggestion is that the first time your daughter gets pooped on, she may rethink holding the bunny non stop.

I would advise not to hold the bunny all the time. The little guy or gal needs exercise and room to move around. It may also stress the bunny being touched constantly.

Rabbits can be trained to use a litter box.
I'm sure if you do a search on the internet you can find info on how to litter train your rabbit.

I have a guinea pig that is pretty good at holding his poopies until I put him back in his cage.

Some tips:

for your base boards...take a bar of irish spring soap and lightly rub on the edges..you wont see the soap and it will deterr the rabbit. ( I also did my wooden chair legs / table/ computer desks...basicly anything I did not want eaten)

For cords...take some regular dish soap, rub lightly in your hand and wipe down the cords.

Simple steps that let bunny have some room and wont cost you a fortune in replacement costs :)

P.S I trained my bunny to use a litter box. I had several placed in the house and used a safe paper mulch litter ( cedar and pine wood chips can cause rabbits breathing difficulties)
