Can I pay OOP for one person?

We have 2 adults and 3 kids staying 6 nights.... Since we have two 2 credit meals (Star Wars character meal and CRT), I'm afraid we'll run short on our credits. I'm going to have to balance out those meals with QS credits and using snack credits as "mini meals" on days when we have larger meals scheduled. My thought was to possibly pay for the SW bfast OOP since it's the cheaper of the two credit meals and save those credits OR pay for the cheapest 1 credit TS meal. Then I thought, what if I paid for one adult and one child at the SW bfast (save 2 adult credits, two kids credits) and one kid meal at Hollywood and Vine (another kid credit). It will be $30 cheaper this way :) Then we can have another TS meal back. Can I do this? Even if our whole party is on the dining plan, can I still pay for one meal OOP?

I guess a spin off question is, can you go to a buffet or AYCTE and not eat? I know we can't share at these meals but honestly, DH doesn't eat breakfast so he'd be happy using his snack credit for something mid-morning but he would want to be there for the experience with DD's. And please, no flames, when I say he wouldn't eat, I mean it... I don't mean "we'll say he won't eat but will take sneaky bites off my plate". I would have to think this wouldn't be allowed in these types of settings because of that very reason. TIA!

You can "not use credits" for any meal you wish. Just let the server know ahead of time. You will get 2 separate bills, one for those using the plan, and one of those not using the plan.

You cannot book a buffet or all you care to eat meal, sit down, and not pay. You take up a chair, you have to pay full price. Trust me, there are many of us who barely eat anything and still have to pay full price. It is an all or nothing thing.

That's what I figured, you take up a seat, you pay. I can respect that. If they let that happen, they'd probably have a lot of people doing that (sitting and not eating). Maybe then the option is to just pay OOP for one or two people and save the credits. These 2 credit meals are what's killing me!
