We plan a 7.15 ADR at Chef Mickeys on our first morning, then to go on the family magic tour at MK at 9.30. My question is, we were going to park at the transportation centre and get a monarial to contempory. However it states it opens at 7am, however 3 friends have warned us they were waiting til gone 7.30 for the first monarail. Dh said park at the hotel. but I dont think you can park there all day can you? we wont have time to eat at Chef mickeys and then go and park nd get back to MK. We have a dd4 who LOVES character meals, so we plan 90 mins for this, at least.

We could eat in CP as their earlies adr is 8.05 but we wanted to do this on the MNSSHP date.

No, you cannot park at Contemp all day unless you are a guest of that resort. At the most, all that you can get is a three hour parking pass. Where are you staying?

You are not supposed to as it is reserved for the guests of the hotel. Since you have a legitemate reason for being there in the first place they will let you in to park, once you are in they are not going to tow the car or anything. So technically you could park there all day, but it is frowned upon. If you feel more comfortable you could Valet the car (it will cost you a fee dollars, but at least that way you won't be worried about it all day. )

If you're not staying at the Contemporary, you can not park all day there, they will tow your car. Are you staying on Disney property? I would call guest services and ask what to do in your case. You could take a cab to the Contemporary.

Just pay for the valet parking.

We are in a villa. I dont mind Valet parking, im not trying to par for free. but I thought if the resturant was open, then the travel links would work. What happens if I was stating in the GF and wanted to eat there?

how does valet parking work?

If you were staying at the GF then you would simply take the monorail to Chef Mickeys. I'd probably do te valet thing also, plus, if you are in an onsite villa (BC, BW, WL) you could simply park valet at your hotel, then your valet for CR would not cost you. I have see cars towed from the guest parking lots at teh CR many times.

So from this I understand the monorail DOES Work at this time, just between hotels, not the transportation centre.
DH cant be bothered with all the hassle, think we will give breakkie a miss and do perhaps another time. shame I was hoping to cash in on the jet lag. flying from the Uk we are always up at 5am on the first day.

Yes, The "resort monorail" is running, but they don't pick up at the TTC that early...Here is the monorail schedule:

Resort monorail:
Begins service at 7 A.M. every day. Closes two hours after MAGIC KINGDOM and Epcot close, whichever closes last. (Monorail will not stop at MAGIC KINGDOM until 7:30am). ROUTE: TTC, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, MAGIC KINGDOM, Contemporary, TTC.

Express Monorail:
Begins 15 minutes prior to advertised MAGIC KINGDOM Park hours until one hour after the Park closes. ROUTE: TTC, MAGIC KINGDOM, TTC

Epcot monorail:
Begins service at7:30am until one and a half hours after either MAGIC KINGDOM or Epcot closes, whichever closes last. ROUTE: TTC, Epcot, TTC

Couldn't you park at the TTC and then walk over to the Poly and catch the resort monorail to the Contemporay from there?

When we stayed at the GF in 2000, we had taken the Epcot monorail back to the TTC after Illuminations, but then were told the resort monorail was not stopping at the TTC at that time. We walked to the Poly and short-hopped to the GF instead walking all the way through the resorts and wedding pavilion. I would think that this would work well in the morning also when the resort monorail isn't taking on passengers at the TTC.

I need some clarification. I thought that the complimentary valet service for DVC members was only at DVC resorts. Am I correct? If I am then the Op would have to pay valet to part at CR. Right?

This is kind of a special-case scenario because of the opening-time issues. Perhaps you should just call the CR and ask them if you could use valet parking all day, or at least until after your tour? Try to speak to the parking supervisor, and if they tell you it will be all right, get the person's name so that if there is a later issue you'll have recourse.

DVC members only get free valet parking at hotels with DVC resorts - BC, BW, WL.

I'd park at the TTC and walk over to the Polynesian and take the resort monorail. Or just take the bus from your resort over to the MK.

As much as a lot is said about not parking more than 3 hours in a hotel parking lot it you are not staying there, or have no business there, I've never seen a car towed, or heard of it happening.

It's not hassle. Simply drive to the Contemporary Resort, follow the signs to valet parking which is at the entrance to the main building. When you leave your car there they will take your keys and give you a ticket as a receipt for your car. When your ready to leave (get your car) return to the same location, give them your ticket, and they will get your car. Your car will be safe.

You will have to pay for the parking (and a tip is expected).

If you valet it they wont tow it you have paid to park it. They wont care how long you leave it there.
