We want to decorate the window for my daughters birthday. Can we use window paint? We use it at home and it comes off no problem. Thanks. :)

I don't think you can use paint on the windows. AFAIK, they don't even want people using tape ... only suction cups ... to put banners and the like up. You can use window clings, but I think paint would be frowned upon.

Here's a whole thread on window decorating - you might get some ideas or more clarification there:

Decorating Your Resort Room

HTH

I wouldn't; there's a fair chance they'd make you clean it off, and/or assess a charge to your room. There have been reports of both.

About the only thing you can be sure they won't object to are magnets on the doors and window clings.

Maybe if you asked at check in and promised to be responsible for washing it off they would consider it. Don't know.

Really? You are a guest and you want to damage the hosts property? Would you like it if your guests just pained the windows, walls,or furniture in your house?

Really?!? You needed to go there? It is washable paint that we use all the time. Did I say I wanted to paint the walls, or furniture? It was window paint that washes off with water, you don't even need soap. Why would you even think it would be damaging? You didn't even read the post correctly.

I would ask and make sure they understand it is washable paint that you will clean off before check out..

Im sure you can understand why they would be hesitant b/c really it could start alot of other guests doing it that wouldnt be as good about cleaning it or making sure its one that washes off.

Maybe window clings are a good idea? Maybe a mini poster board you write on and put stickers on you can prop up in the window or even a dry erase board or birthday banner you buy from the dollar stores?

Just wanted to give you some options..Have a great trip..

Let me ask again. Do you think it is perfectly acceptable if some one staying in your house would paint the windows? Would you like that?
And how will you wash the windows? Using the resort towels?

I used that blue tacky stuff for the door to put up banners, and I used scotch tape on the windows, and tacks above the bathroom arch. I took it all down when we left, and there were no marks. No one said anything.

I say ask 1 of the cast members im sure they will be more than happy to answer you correctly. That way if you are allowed to, you wont be missing out, but if you are not allowed to then you wont get charged or have to take it off ((wasting paint and decorations)). Hope this helps :wave2:

It's not a paint that you use to paint the house. You would need a special chemical to get it off with the real paint.. But this paint she is talking about is a paint that even kids can use. It will not damage the window. You can use a paper towel to get it off. The paint is very harmless.

She just want to know if the resort will be okay to have something on the window? If anything does go wrong and gets damage (which I doubt).. then it will be her problem and not yours.

She didn't mention about painting the wall or the furniture.. I mean why would she do that?

You are coming off too aggressive and attacking.. and that is why the OP responded to you.. "Really?!? You needed to go there?"

And then you have to ask her again.. "Let me ask again. Do you think it is perfectly acceptable if some one staying in your house would paint the windows? Would you like that? And how will you wash the windows? Using the resort towels?" Again.. you're attacking. Just let it go. I am quite sure she will ask the front desk. I am quite sure she will not do anything to hurt or damage the resort. She hasn't painted the window has she? She is here asking?

I think the answer is no to any decorations/paint that would require any extra effort for housekeeping to clean/remove.

And this is one of the main reasons the prices hit the roof.
Who is paying for all of this do you think? No matter how it is sugar coated it is damaging the room and the housekeepers need extra hours to clean it let all one the other damage they do to the room.
Aggressive? Yes I am totally tired of all those that think they can do what ever they like at Disney.
They will not accept this at their own house but if they can damage a room at Disney that is perfectly fine. So let me ask you again. Do YOU PERSONAL find is more than fine if guest damages your house?

My whole point is that she hasn't done it yet.. She will ask the front desk first. She will not do anything to damage the property. And that is why she is here asking..

If anything.. I think you should be mad at those who has already damaged the property. The price of staying at Disney will always go up whether there is a damage to the property or not.. It's called inflation.

Who is going to pay for it? The person who damaged the property. You will not pay for it.. but the person who damaged it. Why would the person next door pay for someone else's damage.

Because when you say damaged.. I am thinking big.. I am thinking of the sink broken off the wall or broken in half.. or slashing the curtains.. or putting holes on the wall.. or tearing the carpet or breaking the furniture or totally vandalizing the room. With that kind of damage... oh for sure, the person who is staying in that room will have to pay up. I surely don't expect the person next door to get a statement about the damage. I very much doubt the OP would do this.. :lmao: That's not her intention for her daughter's birthday celebration! :rotfl2:

Not to worry.. The OP will ask the front desk before she does anything. :)

We're done.

I'll remind all that rudeness, personal arguments and attacks are not welcome on this board, and will result in infractions.
