Can I make park reservations on an *upgraded* renewal AP before its active date?

I currently have Epcot After 4 passes which expire July 3, 2022. We will be at Epcot Memorial Day Weekend, but then we are heading to WDW July 9-15.

I presume the window for my AP renewals will start 30 days before my expiration date, July 3, which means I should be able to renew our Annual Passes on or around June 3. I'm hoping I will be able to upgrade from the Epcot After 4 pass (which no longer exists, total BS) to the Sorcerer Pass or the Incredipass. From what I've gathered on other threads, that should not be a problem.

My real question is this--when renewing the AP into that Incredipass on June 3, even though the pass isn't active until July 4, will I be able to make reservations for that pass for July 9-15 at the time I renew in June? Up until July 3, I can only make park reservations for Epcot. Once I renew for the upgraded pass, will I be able to start making reservations post-July 3 on the upgraded renewed pass right away?

In other words, I don't want a situation where I'm renewing my pass on June 3 but can't actually make reservations with it until it's active July 4, because I could wind up being blacked out for reservations for July 9-15 at that point.

I'm no WDW AP expert, but I'm pretty sure the answer is yes. Once the pass is bought it should be linked in MDE and should open up reservations for you. People who bought their APs "new" were able to make reservations before their first use/activations.

Pretty sure it’s yes, but AP renewal is 60 days before and 30 days after. Probably OK for park passes in July at 30 days before, but I’d go for the 60 day window.

I agree. The system looks to see whether you will have valid admission for the actual dates you’re trying to book, not the day you’re online to book it. So @JayMunOne you should renew at 60 days before expiration, and you won’t have trouble booking park reservations for the dates you want in July.

You will have a separate bucket of reservations that you can make with your renewal AP as well. I have a renewal AP and can make 5 before my renewal date and 5 after.
