Can I just gush about AsMo for a second???

The lady and the tramp building is at POP...the resort I hope to try next! I've been to ASsp as a teenager. This will be my familys first trip to WDW in three years and their first time EVER staying in a disney hotel (we've stayed at SoG before). I chose ASMo b/c it's the disniest of them all....IM SO EXCITED NOW. Thanks for such a positive post! I'm also happy to hear that CMs are accomadating on room assignments. My daughter has her heart set on building 1/pongo b/c she's such a 101 d freak, I'd like that building just b/c its so close to everything. My SIL may be coming, along w/ my 3yo neice...SIL hasn't been in about 10 yrs and this will be my cutest and only niece's first trip. So I'm hoping at the very least we get the same building. If we don't get our preferred room assignment, I'm sure my kids will love wherever we're at. I'd just like to reduce the amount of walking we may have to do since we'll be doing SO much of it. Still crossing my fingers for a free dining plan....come on pixie dust! :wizard:

I requested a Toy Story room when I made my ressies. We checked in early around 8:00 am and requested a Toy Story room again. We were given a number to call to find out our room number when it was assigned later in the day. We went to the parks and around 1:00 called the number. We had been assigned a room in the Dalmatians bldg. I asked the CM on the phone if it was possible to get a Toy Story room instead since I had 3 boys under 5 and it was "All about Woody and Buzz" for them. So the CM was able to find a room for us...facing the courtyard no less. It was PERFECT.

Thanks for solving the mystery. I thought I'd seen something about a Lady & Tramp bldg. somewhere, but was starting to doubt myself. ;)

Thanks Lizzybee! That's helpful. I'm thinking of asking for the Dalmations bldg. I think my nieces would think that is pretty cute. Is there also a Lady & the Tramp bldg., or is that a different resort?

Lady Lady & the Tramp are at POP.
Bus rides are shorter from than All Star resorts than from Pop.
It only takes 10 min. to get to Epcot,MGM or AK from the All Stars.
It takes 20 min. to get to the MK.That's the same amount of time it takes to get to MK from the contemporary when riding the monorail.
Have fun at Disney!

Just another vote for the Dalmations buildings. They're perfectly situated. They're close to both pools and the main building. They're also close enough where you can walk to the ASMu bus stops if you want. And those Dalmation icons are such great photo opps. :)

About the no internet access -

In the past when we've stayed at the all stars, we just plugged in our laptop to the phone line and used our earthlink account to get dial-up access. It would cost us 75 cents each time we connected, the cost of a phone call. Can you still do this? I'm guessing when you said no internet access, you didn't mean the old fashioned, dial-up way. :)

I had put in a request for Dalmations or Toy Story. It will be my 2 yr olds first time and I think that is what he would like best. He loves dogs.
The last time we went we stayed in Toys Story and it was awesome. My oldest loved Buzz. Its funny because when we checked in, we had Mighty Ducks as well and the CM switched us. Wondering if they try to get Mighty Ducks first because noone wants it? :goodvibes Has anyone ever stayed at Mighty Ducks?

My husband noticed a phone jack but we didn't have a cord to connect our laptop. So I'm not sure if that would work or not. We all went to bed early and he would just go sit in the lounge at Coronado Springs which was really quite close by car and work for an hour or two.
