I went to the II website and saw that some of the DVC resorts are up (no AKV yet!!) an I thought I would join II myself so I can see what trades can be done. Can I do that with my DVC points at AKV? Or can I join without owning anything. Thanks! Kath

No, individual DVC owners cannot join II. DVC holds a corporate membership and we can make exchanges thru the World Passport collection via MS, but we do not have access to the full range of programs and incentives offered thru II itself.

Sorry...I'm just getting started with the process of thinking of commencing to begin exploring the concept of joining DVC..and now a whole new acronym!

II = Interval International a company that sets up trades between different timeshares. DVC uses II for the World Passport Collection of trades.

As noted, you can't. some of the II people answering the phone don't know this either so even if you call you may be told you can join when you can't. What you can do is work with any independent that will accept a given exchange. Some of the more prominent are Dial an Exchange, San Francisco Exch, Trading Places Intl and Platinum Interchange plus two based in HI. Each have their niche with benefits and drawbacks.
