Can I hold two reservations at the same time?

We have some banked points to use up and are trying to decide whether to use them in one trip or two, our decision largely hinges on what is available at 7 months..trying to get numbers to add up right, don't want to use too few points or too many.

We are definitely taking a trip at thanksgiving, it's the 2nd trip that is up the air. Currently have a studio booked at our home resort, can I also book a 1 bedroom at our home resort for the same dates? After seeing what we can switch to at 7 months I would drop one of them and keep the other. Not sure if DVC will allow two reservations in the same name at the same time. If not can I drop DH from the studio reservation and book the 2nd room under his name? Any help appreciated.

Book one in each name just to reduce issues. After deciding, you can modify names with an email via the member website.

I book multiple rooms under my name often just to get it all in and done. Closer to the trip I go back and have MS modify who will be where.

I just call this morning and have to add another waitlist to my BCV ressie. I already have BWV and BCV ,same dates with my name and the CM said there was no need to worry. When the WL comes through I can then do all the guests.

Yes, I currently have 2 DVC reservations in my name. One at Animal Kingdom in August and the other at Poly in October. No problem.

OP is talking about 2 reservations for the same dates in the same name.
This used to be a problem. The workaround was to use a middle name on one of the reservations or use another room occupant's name as the "lead" on one reservation. Maybe it is not a problem any more.

It hasn't been an issue for awhile - really since online booking started. Even calling now CM's have been willing to put a single name on 2 reservations for me that are the same dates. Later on I sort out who's staying where if we have a group.

Got it. Years back we had 2-1 bedrooms for the 2 of us at the same time--one at AKV so we could do Sunrise Safari, and one at BWV. We had to have my name on one and hubby's on the other. We didn't want the hassle of moving everything so we just packed a small bag to go to AKV then came back to BWV. It is good to hear that there is no problem any more.

For something like that the biggest issue now is MDE and being able to open room doors. If I need to have access to more than one room I still use a shortening of my name just to try and not have any issues that way.

I have had two reservations, DH and I in both rooms, and other family member in only one along with DH and myself. I've called several times regarding these reservations and never had an issue. Today, I called MS and the cm saw that DH and I are on both rooms and she said we couldn't leave it this way, though I told her we are deciding which rooms people are in as it gets closer. She said that's not allowed and removed me from one and DH from the other. I was a little irritated. I hope this doesn't mean I don't still have control over the reservations since no one else in my family calls - I'm the sole planner.

I told the cm that I have spoken to other cm's and no one said anything about it not being correct. She said that maybe they are newer cm's. She said if she didn't change it, Disney could cancel my reservations because it's not allowed to have the same people in more than one room.

That's why, if we need to hold 2 reservations at the same time, we still modify the names in some way so that the 2 reservations don't look exactly the same. Just one more risk that we do not want to deal with.

I'd agree that's probably a long tenured CM or two who feel this is policy. Since an owner can use their points however they wish I sincerely doubt it's actual policy though so the more recently hired CMs don't do it.

Still I've had CM's that have been there a long time who don't say a word. Perhaps the CM you spoke to is also one who says renting isn't allowed.....
