Just saw this thread, my prayers are with you and your son. There is nothing worse than having a sick child.

On the bright side, one of my best friend's son had many of the same symptoms that your son seems to be having, she went through numerous tests and it did end up being a reflux problem. Hopefully it will be the same for your son!

Just saw your update, Aidensmom, and I hope this latest round of tests gives you a firm diagnosis.

We got the lab results today (blood tests and urinalysis), all was normal!

The gastroenterologist said if all came back normal, most likely it was acid reflux or IBS causing the problem. I am hoping it is just the acid reflux, he has seemed to be less symptomatic since starting the Zantac which was prescribed on Monday. We have also been following the IBS diet as best we can with how picky of an eater he is (normal 4 year old stuff!).

We have a phone follow up next week to discuss how his symtoms are, and a follow up appointment next month. If everything keeps improving, then we know pretty much it is acid reflux or IBS. It seems to be that it is not anything too serious.
