Can I have a dr. Pepper at Disney world?

Maybe the only Coke at the Hess Stations came later.

It did. Now, the Hess stations only sell Coke products.

For the OP - you will have to bring your own Dr. Pepper with you, stop somewhere along the way, get it at the airport, take a taxi from onsite to a nearby grocery store, or sign up for a grocery delivery service.

Again, you cannot get anything but a Coke product onsite at Disney World.

It depends on where you are in the US and in Canada as to whether Dr. Pepper is Coke or Pepsi. Where I live its in almost every store whether its a coke or pepsi store. :confused3

Not exactly. Except in Europe, Dr. Pepper is owned by Dr Pepper Snapple Group (Its Coke in Europe) In certain areas of the US and maybe Canada Dr. Pepper is bottled and distributed by Pepsi or Coke Bottlers (which I believe are a franchise agreements Pepsi and Coke) so if say Coke is on sale in a certain area that also bottles Dr. Pepper, Dr. Pepper will also be on sale.

this explains it better http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dr_Pepper#Distribution

But as far as I know on WDW property you get Mr. Pibbs.

Will I be able to find dr pepper at Disney world or at mco?

No where on Disney Property. Not at the Hess stations. Not at the McDonalds even. I looked everywhere. We ended up making a run to Walmart and stocking up.

I know its a stretch but it does work. I work at a movie theater & have a lot of spare time on my hands so when I do I mix different soda combinations in order to recreate taste-a-like Pepsi products with Coke. This does come in handy especially at WDW where the only chance I have of getting Pepsi is when I venture off property & eat at Hard Rock Cafe or wait until i'm in the airport terminal at Au Bon Pain. Here are a few Coke to Pepsi options i've discovered.

Coke+Sugar= Pepsi
Diet Coke+Sweetener= Diet Pepsi
Mello Yello+Sugar= Mountain Dew
Mr. Pibb+Diet Coke= Dr. Pepper

Just remember you can add fruit punch to a coke product to create a cherry flavor, same with fanta orange. I make these drinks for customers all the time & have never had them tell me the taste wasn't as close as it could be to the real thing.

Just thought i'd throw my two cents in.

LOL.. I guess it depends on the person drinking it. But to a Texan who drinks a lot of Dr. Pepper it does taste different.

Big DP fan here too... I concur that you cannot find any non-Coke carbonated soft drinks anywhere on proper Disney property... and that included leased space operations like Hess, McD's, restaurants in DTD, etc. We have to rely on GardenGrocer for our "Pepper".

That's entirely possible, any trip we took after that we drove down so we had access to Publix or Wal-Mart to get drinks so we never went back to that Hess station and then as I mentioned earlier my wife stopped drinking pop in 2010 so we haven't had reason to anyway. Still, I have fond memories of being the "hero" who discovered the one place we wouldn't need to take a cab to get Pepsi on our honeymoon.

We stopped at that Hess a couple of years ago to get gas and a drink for the road. We were looking for a Dew but no Pepsi products. I'm not sure what year that was, maybe 2008.

Disney have an exclusive contract with Coca Cola so I don't believe you can get Dr. Pepper in DW. You may be able to find it at MCO or someplace else off site and bring it with you.

Just be aware that if you do bring a Dr Pepper or a Pepsi on property, Mickey will personally walk up to you, take it, and then wag his finger. He will then hand you a voucher for 25 cents off of a Coca Cola and wander off.

I totally agree with you. While we were at WDW a few weeks ago, we went to the dine in movies at DTD. My DH was ordering our drinks and said, "y'all don't have Dr. Pepper, right?" The waitress was like, "no, but we have Mr. Pibb, and it's the same thing." The DH then said that was the wrong thing to say to me. I politely informed her that I was a native Texan and I couldn't stand Mr. Pibb, as it is nothing like Dr. Pepper, but would rather have a Sprite (which is my fall back drink when there is no DP).

Honestly I even think there is a difference between Dublin Dr. Pepper and what you can know buy in stores as the "with real cane sugar Dr. Pepper." I miss true Dublin Dr. Pepper....stupid Snapple Company.

This is true, however a trick that worked on my honeymoon 8 or so years ago is to walk from the DTD Pleasure Island bus terminals across the street to the Hess Station that is right there and that one is technically off property and had Pepsi products. It's literally just across the road, then you walk back to the PI busses and take the bus back to your resort. Mission Accomplished. Assuming this hasn't changed in recent years, the wife has sworn off pop since then and I never really drank it anyway so I'm not sure if it still works.

Thank you as this was the Hess station I was referring to! :thumbsup2

This made me LOL! :rotfl2:

I'm a mountain dew girl, and that's always the rough part of my trip! My first trip as an adult back in 2008, I took my son and my 2 teen siblings! Once we got to the Orlando Airport, I told the teens the first person to find me a mountain dew got $5! They were on a mission! haha! And even there at the airport they had a rough time finding one!!!

I've notice not every where has the DP throwbacks made with real sugar you can buy them by the 12 pack in TX!! 10-2 and 4!! Good stuff!

I agree! I hadn't thought about the Dr pepper throwbacks and the difference in taste. That explains why Dr Pepper in other states have a funky taste to us. I hadn't really thought about it. I just knew they tasted odd.

I agree! Mr Pibb tastes nothing like our old Texas Dr Pepper. I drink Dr Pepper here at home, but settle for Root Beer when I'm at WDW. It's funny. I know the two things I'm going to miss down there are Dr Pepper and Mexican food, so the night before my trips, we always go out and eat Mexican food and I get a sweet, syrupy, Dr Pepper, so I can get my fix for the week.:rotfl:

Same here! Dr Pepper is in every convenience store, as well as every restaurant around here. Anyplace that has sodas have Dr Pepper. The first time I went to WDW, I didn't even think about it not being available.

Thats the one I was told to go to at DTD. Oh well we are planning to go there for some stuff so if I can pepsi stuff there great if not I can do with out.

Switch to beer, it's all over the place ('cept MK of course) :earsboy:

My DH switched over to Diet Dr Pepper, that is tough to find in restaurants and know we won't find it on property, so we will just stop at Target on our way to WDW and pick up our stuff we need.

I wish I knew where to get some in Disney. I would be there often.

You actually plan your cross country vacations based upon the availability of Dr. Pepper. :scared1::rotfl:

I think your best bet is to only visit Texas. Based on some of the posts here it seems all houses have in on tap.

I am a Diet Dr Pepper drinker and what I do is when I go to order our water to be shipped to the resort I always check staples the water by the case is reasonable and sometimes the cheapest around and then I order a couple of 12 packs of diet dr P for me and some Mtn dew for DH they are cans but still get me my fix. If they dont have an everything free shipping deal throw in an ink cartridge for your printer that should put you over the next tier to get free shipping and ink takes up so little space most people have room to bring it back in thier suitcase.

We don't eat other snacks and stuff so garden grocer doesn't work well for us, we end up paying alot more.
