Can I get to Boma's at AKL for breakfast if staying offsite?

I was thinking an early PS would be good and then get to the AK park around openning. Is this even possible? Don't I have to go through AK parking to get to AKL? I've heard the gates don't open until 15 minutes prior to park opening.

I was also considering a Rainforest breakfast when I noticed they serve breakfast ..... this also seems tricky for offsite guests who want to get to the park at opening. Am I missing something?

You could take a cab from your resort to AKL for breakfast at Boma, then just catch the bus from AKL to AK for park opening.

you do not go through AK entrance to get to AKL..they are completely different entrances.

You can drive to AKL, as already mentioned, it is a totally different entrance from AK, and then drive to AK for the day. You can also go the the Rainforest Cafe for an early breakfast - technically the RFC is not "in" AK. There is a front entrance before the AK gates and another entrance from within the park, but you must first leave the park through a separate set of turnstyles to enter the RFC this way. The parking area is open earlier than the park itself to accomodate the RFC and the Donald's Breakfastosaurus early breakfast crowd. Enjoy!

Thank you both for the information! We have a car so can drive to AKL and then on to AK. I wonder if it would be more convenient to valet the car at AKL, eat at Boma's and hop on a bus to AK. I'm an offsite guest so don't think I am officially eligible for Disney transportation. Do the AKL to AK busses get real full often (we'd be going in offseason)? Does eating at Boma's sort of buy me a bus ride over?

Yeah, as long as the gates open early, seems like RFC would be easy. I had heard they were holding up cars until 15 minutes prior to opening. If its only on EE days I can see that as OK to keep offsite guests away and I won't be going to EE parks anyway (why bother as offsite guest). But on non-EE days I'd like to be there at rope drop and beat the traffic by getting there real early and eating breakfast inside AK, at RFC or even AKL.

As long as you have valid admission media, you are eligible to use Disney transportation. The guard will give you a parking pass at AKL and I would just park there and take the bus to AK. They seem to run every 5 minutes.

You are entitled to use Disney transportation if you have a vaild admission ticket. For example, those with park hopper passes have to be able to 'hop' on the buses and monorails to transfer between parks. The same goes for resorts.

I thought that if you were an offsite guest eating in a resort, then you were only allowed to park for 3 hours in the resort car park. I'm not sure how they check up on this though. I am not totally sure about this so maybe someone else can verify or correct me.

From what I understand I can get a 3 hour pass for free to park which would be more than enough time if I were just dining. But if I'm going into the AK park afterwards, I should valet my car at AKL. AKL has valet, right? Then I'm not taking any parking spaces from AKL guests. (I'm going second week in Dec so probably not a full lot anyway, but I'm fine with valeting the car.)

To enter AKL you must check in with the guard house. They will issue you a parking pass for your winshield which will say the time the pass is valid for (I believe it's 3 hours). I don't know if they will allow you more time if you choose to use the valet service.

If you use (pay for) valet parking, you can park the whole day. Also, if you travel to another WDW resort later that day, keep your valet receipt and you won't have to pay again (other than a tip).
