My family is heading to the US for 5 weeks in 6 weeks and I need someone to get excited with me because I don't want to rub in it at work. NYC, Florida, DC, Vegas and LA..... can't wait!

:cool1::cheer2::cool1::cheer2: How exciting another countdown!:cheer2::cool1: 5 weeks is a great amount of time to have in the USA :dance3:

Never too early to get excited!!! :cool1:
I'm excited about my trip and it's 11 months away..!!! :lmao:
Sounds like a great trip - enjoy it!! :thumbsup2

Sounds like an amazing trip. Share some more details here if you like, we Disers love details :lmao:[/QUOT

Delighted to share but on ipad so excuse lack of caps.

leave the last day of DD school (that night) perth to melb then on to LA on V Australia. change to AA (points) through to NYC (ugh). 5 days in NY then on to orlando for 3 nights with Harry Potter then 6 nights at Pop with free dining (yeah). christmas with my dad then 4 nights in DC before heading off to Vegas NYE for a couple of nights. Then off to LA for another 5 nights then home (sob) and back to work (bigger sob).

on a tight budget so no fancy restaurants (except at Disney, did i say we got free dining?) but then we tend to be big walkers and collapse with a deli takeout for dinner anyway.

DD (14) just wants to shop but DH and i determined to see things other than shops so have planned most days with a bit of culture or memories (i was born in NY but haven't been back for 20 years) combined with shopping.

DD also dreams of collebe i. the US (she is a citizen) so plan to visit a college or two as well if we can fit it in.

Super excited and loving the exchange rate! also loving disboards because people are genuinely interested.

Yep, love details (and pics when you get back ;):lmao:)

Sounds like an awesome trip!

:dance3: that sounds awesome and i am just a tad jealous of your DD and you i assume being able to be a citizen of the USA and Australia:cloud9:

yes, i am a citizen as well as born in the US but wasn't able to transfer the citizenship to my dd as i left when imwas a child. we applied via my father and it took almost 2 years to get it approved then we were given an appointment for only 7weeks later....and we had to go to the US! with so little notice it cost us over $7000 in airfares for the two of us, all for a 30 minute appointment! however there is always a silver lining and as my father lived in florida, you guessed it, visit to Mickey!

if she does go to college in the us then the expense would have been worth it.
