We'll be buying our AP tickets at the Disney Store, so won't have our actual passes until we activate our vouchers. Will I still be able to get an AP rate added to our reservation before we go? If not, should I consider buying AP through the Disney webite?

You should be just fine ordering your AP's from the Disney store. Technically, you should activate the vouchers at one of the parks before checking in as they say you need the actual AP to show at check-in. So as long as you get the pass activated before you check-in you should be fine.

SUPER!!!

That's what I was hoping :) Thank you for the quick reply. And congratulations on your impending arrival! Will this be your first?

You're welcome! :D

Thanks for the congrats too! This is baby #2, my ds just turned 3 and is looking forward to having a new playmate;)

Just FYI, we ordered our AP vouchers through the Disney Store and had only the vouchers at check-in. No one asked to see even the vouchers, much less activated passes. This was true of both the resorts where we stayed in January.

I've seen speculation as to the following: (1) It's possible that Disney knows you've purchased the vouchers and this info appears on their computer system, so they don't need to see your vouchers or activated passes at check-in; or (2) The front desk may not know what your room rate was based on and so doesn't care if you have a voucher or whatever; or (3) Neither of the above and something else altogether--who knows what?

I'm sure all will be fine at check-in.

Have a great trip. --miffy--

I'm sure the voucher will be fine. The first time we ever booked AP rates we went to Downtown Disney first and bought our APs, then no one asked to see them. We've had many AP discount stays, including three this summer, and the only time we've ever been asked to see a pass was at Dixie Landings in 2000. This year, I noticed that our confirmations listed that we had a code rate instead of AP b/c there was a specific code for the AP rate. It used to be that the confirmation actually said AP and that a pass was required.

Thanks, all, for your reassurances. I am getting so excited for our weekend getaway! I hope that the AP codes that do come out allow us to upgrade resorts for my birthday. I just wanted to make sure I had all my ducks in a row....
