Can I get a Soarin' FP at 9:30?

My plan is to hit DCA at 9:30 when it soft-opens. I'm not sure if I can get a FP for Soarin' and head over to wait for the rope drop for Toy Story Mania, or if I'd be better off riding Soarin' right away at 9:30 and then going to TSM (how long would that take at 9:30?)

I think both rides will be family favorites (DH and I rode both at WDW last year, but the kids haven't), but I don't want to get caught in a really long line for TSM if there's an easier way.

Thanks for the input .... this applies to a Tuesday in October if it makes a difference to your answers.

DD and I have been the first on Soarin' and been off by 9:50 and in line at the GRR rope drop.

Hmmm... to ride Soarin' or to FP it?

I guess I'll let the kids decide. They love to think they have a say in things;)!

If it were me, I would ride it first thing, grab a FP on the way out to save for later in the day and then head for the line for TSMM. :thumbsup2

I agree...that's what I would do too if you are going to be there early enough to be one of the first in the park.

I would only FP, not ride. The one day we tried to ride Soarin' first, we were first in, but for some reason we didn't make it off until like 10 or maybe a little after - they were SO SLOW loading. We missed the TSMM special line and then we ended up waiting a long time for it. I would just FP and go to TSMM.

Yes-we were able to get FP's this AM while waiting for official park openingm
Although, we didn't need them when we returned at 11:30 am as the standby
line was only 10 minutes.

This is very rare. Usually even in the "lower seasons" Soarin is one of the most popular attractions at DCA.
