Can I fit 18 people in one room at DLH?

Dang it, I should have checked this thread earlier, I was definitely going to call dresser drawers for my kids - they are tiny - at 6 and 4 can I still claim they are 2??? Both are very tiny...come on AZ, vouch for me..

Yep your kids are adorable and petite so they can fit in the dresser drawers. Hmm what about a purse.

SAM, Your ideas are genius. Genius I tell ya! I think we have exceeded 18 Patti. We should invite others.

Well you know what this all means?? We've now found a budget friendly way for us to all go to Disney together! Just have to figure out how to hide 16 of us in a compact rental car until late at night when we can sneak in!:rotfl: But I guess that's a whole other thread!

Have I mentioned I'm so glad everyone here on the DL thread has a sense of humor. If this were over on a WDW thread someone would have taken this seriously by now and we would have already received a lecture or two by the DIS morality police!:scared:

P.S. I get dibs on the drapery hammock!

Sam...I bow, my friend...:worship: :worship: Your suggestions have elevated us to a whole new level of frugality. Okay...they've actually lowered us to a new sub-basement of crazy, but you know what I mean.

Hanging children by the wooden hangers! There is a fine line between genius and madness, and you're swinging from it! :lmao:

Is this some sort of myth busters challenge? Cramming 18 people in one room? :rotfl2: It's nice to know you like to hang your kids out to dry Patti! :rotfl:

I agree Sam has conquered this thread with her ingenuity. Welcome to the crazy board!!!

Also agree!! So when can we all get together? If we split an AP rate of $129 24 ways, it would only be about $5 a night per person! That I can handle. What should we do when they ask how many keys we need? :confused3

No, Mom! (hangs head and kicks at the dirt) I'll go finish right now!! :lmao:
Shawna started it!

Gotta really go and pick up DD now, see you all in a while!

You guys are great! Actually I'm not as genius as you think I am. I'm an accountant for a hotel company and I've heard just about everything that you can think of that has to do with hotel rooms over the past 18 years!! So using my imagination on this one wasn't much of a stretch!

We have a small corporate office (the owners and myself), so I'm the person that gets to listen to the complaints from customers, now tell me that isn't fun! Most of them are handled at the local level by the manager, but every once in a while we have to handle ones. My favorite ones the past few years have included getting lectured & yelled at for not providing enough low carb foods at the continental breakfast. What I want to say is "continental breakfast is European for a hard roll & coffee, not 15 pounds of bacon per person"! It doesn't matter that we provide a variety of fresh fruit & hard boiled eggs - they want bacon! Guess it's too hard to peel a banana and actually eat something healthy!

My second favorite comments are about the bed & pillows. I bet for each hotel we get about 100 people a month that say the bed & pillows are too soft and then about 100 other people that think the bed & pillows are too hard! About 2 or 3 times a year we actually have people that claim the bed was too hard and they had to sleep in the bathtub and they want a refund! I mean do they really expect us to think the mattress is harder than the bathtub and that a 6' tall man slept in a 4' bathtub all night?:thumbsup2

Our latest problem was a group of junior high students on a field trip for a band competition. Apparently the chaperones were completely ignoring the kids and basically they took over the hotel. We serve fresh baked cookies to our guests at night and as you can imagine the kids began eating cookies like there was no tomorrow. So our manager finally stepped in & told the kids no more, these were for the other guests. He would contact their chaperones and we would send up trays of cookies (2 each) for them that evening. Well a couple of days later one of the parents sent a letter threatening to sue us for discrimination because her child was treated unfairly from the other guests. Wow, guess we completely forgot about that Cookie Discrimination Law!!

Working in the hotel industry is interesting and you just never know what you will encounter next! So 18 people in a room wouldn't surprise me at all!

Just get 2 keys, but we'll keep sending the same person down 16 more times to say they locked the key in the room and need another one!:)

matterhorn: Yes umm, i like 18 keys please...

CM hotel: ......

You all are so funny. I really needed a laugh today. I will have to look up that anti-cookie discrimination precedent for you. I think it was a case in Massachusetts in the late 90's... They took it all the way to the Supreme Court.....:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Good idea, they'll never suspect a thing! I feel ya on the complaints, I worked front desk here in Vegas for a few years, I have heard some whoppers too!

Now, am I gonna have to walk in front of our group holding a giant 4' long light up stick with Mickey attached to the top like the tour groups here in Vegas do? I laugh every time I see them all walking through the casino like that!

Who will be OUR mickey stick holder?

NO... I came home during dd's dance lessons to get my car (had to change oil) and continue packing.

No Andrea, you started it. You always blame EVERYTHING on me. NOT FAIR.
