Can I enjoy DVC perks if I'm not using DVC?

OK - I'm under serious pressure from DH to just make a decision and buy into DVC. I suspect he thinks I'm having a cyber-affair, the amount of time I'm spending on the computer.

Anyway, one last ( I hope) question. I have a booking for the WL in August with free dining, which I'm going to keep and pay cash. Would I be able to use my DVC perks (discounts on tours etc) notwithstanding the fact that I will be doing a non-DVC stay? Obviously this isn't going to be a deal-clincher - I'm just curious.

I have certainly done so - usually all you need to do is show your DVC member card or give the number of it when booking. Also it still gives 10% off in the Disney stores in the UK (but not in the US) I think - while since I have been to one tho!

As far as I am aware the only DVC perk that you can't use when not staying at a DVC resort is the pool hopping one.

Actually you can only pool hop if staying at a DVC resort on points, at least legally. Most perks can be utilized otherwise including valet parking and all discounts I can think of.
