Sorry if this is a stupid question, I am new to DVC. My MIL was thinking about joining us for part of our trip this Nov. We are staying at VWL. Can I get her a regular room using my discount? We do have a 2 bedroom but if she comes down someone would be on the pull out in the living room. She would like to have a room to herself if possible. Thanks!

If you have the available points consider booking an additional reservation for a studio for the days she will be down. That's what I did for my first trip in Feb/2010. Not sure about the cash discount since I have never done it.

You can call MS and see if there is a studio available to book for cash and 25% DVC member discount may even be available for dates you'd need. Member 25% discount if it is available would only be valid for DVC rooms, not for regular rooms on Wilderness Lodge side of resort.

Sure, you can pay cash for a regular room in the Wilderness Lodge. You just have to book it through CRO.

There is no DVC member's discount for the Lodge rooms and you cannot book them through Member Services.

Subject to availability, you can book a studio at VWL for cash through Member Services and may even get the 25% (off rack rates) discount. You do not have to be staying in the room to get the discount.

25% member discount IF available only applies to DVC rooms (studio, 1 br or 2br units). iirc, if it is attached to your points reservation you may book it through MS.

You can book a regular hotel room at WL or any other Disney resort through CRO for cash. It is possible that there may be a special rate code available through CRO or if you're an AP holder or AAA member.

You might be able to transfer points into your account and get her a studio that way. It might be even cheaper than paying with the DVC discount.
