First let me first apologize for what may be a dumb question...but I'm new and need reassurance I guess.

If I've already booked for SSR (our "home") can I change DVC resorts? For example, I've booked SSR for a weekend in November, if the same accommodations are available, I would like to change to Wilderness Lodge. Can I do that?

Yes, as long as you are within the 7 month window - so in April you can call to try and switch... hope you get what you want...

Yes, you can. WE are booked at BCV for Oct 28-Nov 2, we are going to try and get VWL at the 7 month mark, which would be April 2. Our anniversary is April 4 so hopefully getting VWL will be an early anniversary present

You will need additional points, the WL units are more points than SSR.

Actually this method of booking your home resorts and then changing over to a desired option at the 7 month window is a preferred one by most of us.

Thank you all for your help. I didn't know about the 7-month window - so I'm glad I asked!

I figure it'll cost more points and that's fine. We had to bank our points from last year so I need to use them any way (and that's including a trip already scheduled for June). I'd rather use the points then loose them (and can't schedule a 3rd trip this year).

Additional $.02............ even if your choice isn't available at the 7-month mark, ask to be put on a "waiting list". Many times, those come through.
