You can place them on your room account and then use the kttw card to charge things back to your room. The money wont actually be on your kttw card. You can also use the gift cards to pay for meals and souvenirs as you go along.

We just linked our credit card to out KTTW. I tried to put our gift cards on at check in and she just said to wait until we had incurred charges and put them towards it later since the credit card isn't charged until checkout (or until a certain amount is reached - but we didn't get to that point).
I'm starting to pile up some gift cards for our next trip already.

Yep, I have done it twice. Just handed over all the cards I had saved and they put them on my account which was linked to the KTTW card. I have heard of those not wanting to do that just in case they don't spend all the money they handed over. In this case you would hand over all the cards at check out to clear up your account.

What I've also done is at check-in, use your CC, but the night before checkout you can go to the lobby and pay your balance with the GCs.
