Hi,

First of all LOVE these boards, where would I be without them..(oh yes, I would be waiting in line for dumbo at 11:00AM....Ha!)

Anyway.....after calling and calling (for years) and never having a code under my name, guess what?? One pops up under my BIL's name who went with us one time about 3 years ago....Yippiee.... :woohoo: before you ask, yes we are all going together.

Here is the group
ME
DH
DS (7yrs)

Sister in Law
BIL
DS (8 yrs)
DS (6 yrs)

Now I already booked w/ 40% off coupon the following:

POR standard room Aug, 6 nights
Total (room only): $603.00 (per room) :cool1:
2 room Total:1206.96

Now what if free dining were to come out? What would be the better deal?

Now here is where it gets crazy...Does disney allow you to switch up households? Please DO NOT flame me... I truly do not know if this is allowed or frowned upon so I am only asking... Here is my question. What if we were to cancel reservations if free dining comes out and do the following...

Room 1 POR
Free Dining
ME
DH
DS (7yr)
SIL
DS or my nepew (8yr old)

Room 2
40% off
BIL
DS or my nepew (6 yr old)

Please let me know...again please do not:scared1: (freak out at me). But a little advice would be helpful.

Here is to all of you that have never got a code before but somehow got a little:tink: your way..

Here is for all of you still hoping for the code/free dining:love:

I don't see why not, but if you want to save the most with free dining, then stay at a value.

You have a good idea there, though.

Only one discount.can't have both.If you have separate ressies from your bil family, yes you could change from code to free dining. If you are both booked under your BIL( which if the 40% is in his name , you probably are)You would need to cancel and rebook under your own name.Disney wants everyone under the same ressie to have the same pkg/code.As for which is the better deal, it seems the people that do better with the 40% off generally save more by booking deluxe. But if you have a larger family Free dining would probably be better for you.:goodvibes

Rack rate for POR in value season is $149/night + tax about $167.yy x 6 = $1006.

But what you really want to do is
$1006 (rack for one room) +$603 (40% for second room) =$1609 +tips +food for 2 more (1a/1c): let's say $65 x 6= $390
total $1999 + third adult in one room per night $2089
vs.
$1206 (both rooms at 40%off) + food for everybody for 6 nights (4a/2c): $190 x 6 = $1140
total $2346
vs.
$2012 (2 rooms at rack) + free dining $0 + tips (But let's admit you will probably spend some money on extra drinks probably)
total $2012

***The real difference is what your eating habits are. I budgeted $40 per adult and $15 per child per day. If your family eats less than that then if may be a complete wash.

Disney knows how to work the system!

Keep in mind that in room #1 if SIL is an adult, you will have the extra adult fee of $15 per night for length of stay. So you do need to calculate that in your cost.

I also don't think that they will give you connecting or ajoining rooms because the reservation will have to be connected. What I was told is that all of the people needed to be on the same plan. We have two rooms booked and that is what we were told.
