Can I do this online?

I have 3 nights booked at AKV mid Dec . and 6 nights booked in an OKW GV following the AKV ressie. I did this because I only had enough AKV points to book 3 nights in a 2 bedroom even with borrowing and I wanted to book at the 11 month window.

Now I am wanting to switch my OKW ressie one day at a time to AKV. That requires me to cancel one day at OKW and add on to my AKV ressie for the same day. Can I do this online, or is it going to be too confusing? I have to use the same points from the OKW ressie, since some are borrowed. I'm thinking I should just call MS and run the risk of online people getting in an hour eariler.

You can do it online but you run the very slight risk that AKV inventory might disappear while you are canceling and booking.

This also happens with MS, not all CM's have the ability to hold inventory.

Actually, I don't think you can cancel one day at a time online. As far as I know, only MS can modify an existing reservation to drop/add a day. Online you'd need to cancel the entire OKW reservation and then rebook into AKV if it is available.

I agree with Chuck. There is no online option to cancel part of a reservation. You would have to cancel the entire OKW reservation and then rebook the nights you still want. Probably not a good idea.

I'd call MS.

SUCCESS! I didn't have to call MS to do it either. I got online at 6:55 this morning, and the whole thing was available so I took the risk and canceled my OKW GV. By the time I got done doing that, it was 7:00 (8:00 ET), and I could book the Kidani ressie. The good thing was that I was able to book an extra night because it was fewer points! Now we are booked in a Kidani 2 bedroom savanna view for nine nights checking in 12/15 and out 12/24. We plan to drive, so it gives us a couple of days to get home while most folks are off the roads.

Oh, and I DID have to call MS anyway aftwards to have the second part of my ressie linked to the first part, but that was easy. Unfortunately, I FORGOT to make my location request of Sunset Savanna, so I still need to do that.

Glad it worked for you. Are you saying the online system allowed you to book a 7 month out reservation starting at 7:55 am Eastern time?

No, I wasn't able to book until 8:00 ET (7:00 central). I said I cancelled my GV at 6:55 Central after I found there was availability of the AKV 2 bedroom when I wanted it.

It would be great if the system would let you do modifications of a reservation. Something every other hotel chain website can do.

Anyway, when does the website changeover to let you see availability for the next day? Is it midnight, 8am EST (open of the booking window) or sometime between?
