Can I do a split booking to get Jan 2 discounts?

We have decided to take a quick trip to Disney for NYE. We will be arriving on 12/31 and checking out 2/5 staying at POR. I was wondering if I was able to do a split booking and receive the room only discounts for Jan 2-5. I was able to calculate it that way online but when I called to get a quote it was $150 more. Thats not a lot but could pay for our food. Am I not allowed to do two separate bookings and get the room only discount and keep our same room?

Yes, you can do 2 separate reservations, which you would have to do in order to take advantage of the discount for Jan 2-5. With that said, although it's very likely you would not have to change rooms, it is not guaranteed. After booking both dates, have the reservation linked together with a request to keep the same room. When you check in for the first reservation, mention to the CM that you have a continuing reservation and would like to keep the same room if possible. It is not guaranteed and you might have to move, but the CM will do everything he/she can to accommodate your request. Good luck.

Thanks! I knew there was a way to be done but the CM was not accommodating on the phone even tho I asked about the room only discount and said I wanted to keep the trip as cheap as possible. Changing rooms won't be horrible as we will be traveling light this trip.

I would call back. You wouldn't be able to do one reservation with checking in on 12/31 and get the room discount starting 1/2, but you can certainly do 2 separate reservations and get the discount for the last few days (and your chances are good that you won't have to move ). Maybe the CM was confused at what you wanted to do, but I would do the 2 ressies as well to save $150 .
