Hi,

Can someone confirm that I have the correct understanding of my points!

We are staying on cash with free dining in December however I want to add 2 nights dvc point stay before and two after.

I will be borrowing points from 2014 to do this and I will need to wait list what I want to book as only 3/4 nights are avail and the first two only availability is OKW but I would wait list for AKV.

So...... I can't book my flights until the end of this month so need the ability to slide the dates for my cash stay and slide or cancel my dvc stay if needed - hopefully not!

I was going to just wait until the end of the month to book my dvc stays however I'm thinking that as long as I cancel the dvc bookings at the start of October for a December stay then the points just go back to 2014 and there's no restrictions on them?

Lastly - if I book eg OKW as that's all that's avail now then change it at a later date as I'm randomly checking availability and it changes frequently then what happenes if the stay I move to costs less points than I booked at OKW?

Clear as mud?! Lol - really appreciate your thoughts.

If you have a Feb UY and use 2014 point to book a stay in December, those points will expire January 31, 2014. Borrowing is a final transaction so if you are not sure if you want to use points for a December trip, then do not borrow the points to make a reservation. Same thing applies if you book one resort and waitlist a resort that requires less points. If the WL fills, the leftover points will expire 1/31/2014.

I'm really glad I asked as I'd thought the borrowed points would return to their borrowed year!

I'll wait until the end of the month and look then once my flights are booked and dates confirmed.

With borrowing from a February UY for Dec travel, waiting until you have your dates with airfare confirmed is a good idea.

But, be aware that Dec is really popular and that by the time this month is over, there is a good chance you will have trouble getting any DVC room, even with a wait list.

If you find that, I would be prepared to stalk the website regularly as I have been very successful getting rooms this way!

It is super busy already but I've been stalking the web site and am often finding dates available that weren't available at the last stalk! I'll persist once I have those impt dates set in stone and hopefully get something. If not I'll book cash. Will find something

You've gotten the borrowing question answered, but I wonder if you realize that December is almost impossible to book right now ANYWHERE? I would not wait to book, because the closer you get, the more likely NOTHING will be available.
