Can I change which points are used first?

I'm a first-year DVC'er who has two upcoming trips booked at BLT: December 17-23 and March 26-April 3. I had to borrow some points for our Spring Break trip while my December trip is all current UY (September) points. I'm sure we will be going in December but not sure about Spring Break. Can I request that the borrowed points first be used for my December trip so if I don't go over Spring Break I could bank those points? Thanks.

Not as I understand your question. Each given point is tied to a specific reservation. The only way to change this would be to do a cancelation and rebooking for both trips or to request a re-allocation of the points. In both cases there is a risk you could lose the points. Also, if you make a change to your december trip those points will be holding account points and could not be banked anyway and could not be used in the March trip until 60 days prior. I'd just leave it like it is and take my chances. Lesson learned for points planning management.

MS has the abiltiy to "reallocate" points, so it is certainly worth asking, I know they can do it in many situations

They will only reallocate points if there is current availability for the same room that is on your reservation. The possibility of that existing for your Dec reservation is pretty much imposable.

IMO that's what they should do but they are very variable in this area and sometimes they will reallocate points when there is no availability.

Not necessarily. As long as the reallocation isn't circumventing any of the home resort booking priority then they might do it without requiring an open room. Can't hurt to call and ask.

Even then they will sometimes allow it on a case by case basis.

I think they will do it if your points are all from the same home resort, unless the fact that we are so near the reservation that puts something into play that I don't realize. Call MS, I think they will help you.
