Can I change my reservation?

Hi everyone,

Sorry in advance if this is not the right place to post this, but it is about resorts so hopefully it’s ok!

I have a trip coming up that I would like to shorten, change from 5 nights to 3 nights. The problem is, I have a package booked at Wilderness Lodge and I’m less than a month away, and it’s paid in full. I looked online and there is an option to change it on the Disney website, but if I do that, will they refund me the difference? Going from 5 nights to 3 saves me a good amount of money, but since I’m paid in full, I don’t know how it works with refunds. Would I be better off calling and talking to someone instead of doing this online?

Yeah, we always call when cancelling anything. Get the person's name, the date and time and they will give you a total of the refund. Always good to keep that until the credit comes back.

Typically, in this situation, they issue a resort credit which goes on your room folio so, if you charge anything back to the room, they will use this credit to pay for your purchases. If you don't use the entire credit during your trip, the rest will eventually be refunded to your original form of payment.

Ooh see that’s what I’m afraid of, I don’t ever charge anything back to my room so that would be kind of useless to me. Maybe I’ll just call and ask to get it refunded back to the card I paid with, hopefully they will let me. Glad I didn’t just do it online without asking here first!

If you don’t use the credit, the money will be refunded after your checkout day.
