We are leaving in 5 days!!! I was wondering if I can carry a back pack into the parks. I would like to have something to carry my camara and accessories, water bottle, jackets for kiddos, and any thing we buy in parks. Does anyone that has been there recently know?

Yes you can bring a backpack into the parks. You will have to have it searched before going in. Our last trip I took a small backpack because the bigger the backpack the heavier it will get as the day wears on. We plan on renting a locker for our jackets this time because I'm not carrying them all day. By the way, if you are staying at a Disney hotel you can have the stuff you buy at the parks delivered to your hotel.

No, please don't get a roller!! I can't tell you how many times (both in and out of WDW) I've almost tripped or been run over because of someone with a roller backpack or suitcase. I think because you roll it behind you that people tend for get about it and that there's people walking behind you who might almost fall over it when you turn a corner or stop suddenly.

A normal backpack sticks to your person, and if not overpacked, it unobtrusive to others in the park. We carried a medium sized one that had two water bottle pouches on the side. It was perfect to carry our ponchos, water, camera, and souvieners.

We always have a backpack with us. We don't take one that is too big because like previously said, they do get heavy by the end of the night.

We took my sons school backback loaded with his epi pen, benadyl, t-shirt for autographs, pens, little surprises (picked 'um up at the dollar tree) and tons of snacks, juices etc. We probably saved at least $20 a day!

Backpacks are fine. Except dont pack too much in them, I carry around a small one and even that one seems heavy after a while...

Oh, that's bad!! You instigator, you ;) But, anyway. You might find a fanny pack is easier on your back. Everyone in our family wears their own. Otherwise, a smallish backpack will do the trick. I just tend to get chafed where the straps go behind my arms after a few days.

Just being lighthearted. I just had to, you just know I had to. I figured if not, me someone else would jump on the opportunity. :earsboy:

No rollers, please!!

We always have a small/medium size backpack and try not to overpack. We will usually also have a waterbottle holder as well (we don't mind each other's germs) and will refill it at the drinking fountains.

We take turns carrying the items.

I think I have OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) because there's no way I could go without at least a nice big backpack. I just have to feel like I have everything I need. Please tell me I'm not the only one. *walks off to grab medication*.

Yes, but if you pack any children over 3, they will still need a ticket.

OMG!!!! :earboy2: ;)

10 minutes in the corner with no cookies & milk for a week if that comment gets THAT thread going again!!! ;) :teeth:

We've always taken a backpack into the parks for the extra stuff we need to carry. My dad has a really sturdy one from his Army days and so we use that one. We really look like commando's going through the parks with that thing! :teeth:

I plan on taking a huge backpack in. But that is for two reasons. First, I want lots of room for our stuff and for it to be somewhat secure.

Second, My wife doesnt plan to ride much at all so she can keep it with her and DS while DD and I ride. We are taking a stroller with us that has a big basket underneath it. We can just keep it under there unless we ALL ride something together.

nooooooo your not the only one....we take a rolling one tooo...and ours looks very similar to yours....good taste my friend...i feel like i have to have all my meds...kids needs..etc right there with me also...dont wanna have to run across the park to a locker...
