Trying to avoid bringing the laptop but worried I'll run out of memory cards, is there anywhere at the parks I can buy memory cards? If so, any chance I can get Class 6 or higher? I'm bringing four, but ya never know...

I found SD cards in several places. I was looking for CF, so I don't know the specifics much more than that they have them in several places.

Yes, there are places to purchase SD cards in the parks (Main Street camera shop in the MK, the first two stores below Spaceship Earth in EPCOT, etc.); however, you will pay through the nose for them (about 1.5 to 2 x the price outside the parks).

To give an idea on price, last year at about this time, I saw a 4GB standard card for something like $50! Online the same card would have been about $6. I would guess the markup is about 2x full retail price or 4-5x street price.

go to your local stor brfore you leave for vaca and buy some extra cards but dont open the packaging and when you get home return the un used ones. saves lots of cash over buying in the parks and they are so small and light it won't kill the weight of your bags.

2nd that....buy a bunch at home. You'll get what you want and for a lot less.

It appears the OP leaves in 2 days for her trip, so probably not time for mail order.

OP, I could be completely wrong, but I doubt the cards you'd buy at the parks will be class 6 or higher. If that is important to you, then you need to pick one up before you go. As high as that seems compared to the sales you can get online, I guarantee it will be a far better deal than what you'll get in the park. I tend to pick up a card or 2 before every trip. Over time, I've put together a decent collection and finally think I can do a 10 day trip shooting RAW with no computer. I enjoy shooting with abandon, not worried at all about running out of space.

:thumbsup2 I second this ^^^ and I'll add that you should pay special attention to the manufacturers recommendation on class and card size if you want to avoid potential card conflicts with your camera.

Thanks for the input everyone! I did go buy another one today, but I live in a small town which unfortunately only sells Class 4 :sad2: So I guess that will have to make due- might pick up one more just in case- can always return it when I get home. That would give me two 6MB Class 6, and four 4 MB Class 4. I have never had a problem with my Class 4's before, so hopefully I wont this time either! That's crazy how much they charge for them at the parks!
