I have read that I can buy the dining plan if I rent DCV points, so if thats the case can I pay extra for my toddler? He eats more than my 7 year old. I dont think I need to have my tickets attached or anything so why not?? Anyone know?

At our last DVC stay, we paid for the dining plan for our 2 year old because she likes having her own. We thought it was worth the money because we'd be buying her drinks and even some desserts on her own. We just said she was three when reserving the dining plan. They said it was okay.

I would have two other children also on the plan, so if I say he's 3 he wouldn't technically be allowed in the room right? Could I call and ask or just wait and see? It would just be so worth it to have him on the plan.

If you are trying to get a studio, then, no, you can't have five in the studio. There is a limit of four. DVC Member Services will allow five in a one bedroom (staying on points), but they will not provide additional bedding or linens.

I may be wrong(it's been a few years), but I think that children under 3 aren't charged at Character Meals and buffets. If you plan to eat at these places a lot, you could just pay cash for the counter service/snack. Does anyone know?

Yes, that's right. We have three kids and did the one bedroom. So I don't see a problem paying for your child if you're in a one bedroom. It was suggested to us as okay to do. You can't add the dining plan to DVC when you get there.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the person you are renting points from(owner) has to be willing to make the DDP arrangements for you. Most will do this, but some may not. Make sure you ask.

Since when are 5 people (age 3 and over) allowed in a one bedroom villa
The max has always been 4 plus one child age 2 and younger in a crib

If you are going to list them as 3 they may not let you stay in a one bedroom
I would find out about this first

As a previous poster mentioned...children under 3 are free at buffets/character meals. My daughter was almost 3 at our last visit. She ate free at those type meals. We did have to pay out of pocket at counter service.

Member Services will allow five in a one bedroom (if you are staying on points) but they will not provide additional linens or bedding. CRO will NOT allow five in a one bedroom period.

However, this could change once AKV opens since some of the one bedrooms there will officially have room for families of five (all three years or older) and MS could go back to only four in a one bedroom.

I rented DVC points in November. I added the dining plan on my own and paid for it at check in. What a wonderful perk. I did not need the owners to add the dining plan, just my confirmation #. They even offered to make ADR's for me through member services. NICE!

You were extremely lucky!! You are not supposed to be able to add it yourself when you check in and you must notify Member Services to add it. Since you are not the owner, only the owner who made the reservation can contact MS. I'd bet that you called to add DDP before Aug 1, 2006 when the requirements changed.

MS will not talk to anyone but the member since the change in the rules. And if you ARE a member using a reservation made by another member, they can't even talk to you about the reservation.

Thank you - didn't know that
