I am not attending or invited to a convention.....However, I found a place that advertises all types of WDW tickets. One they offer appears to be a convention type of ticket. Can these ticket places sell unused convention tickets to anyone? Or will WDW try and card me for a convention id before I can use the pass? Does anyone recommend a reliable vendor that sells unused convention tickets? anyone done this before and what's your experience. Is this ok to do? I can't afford to spend "stupid" money and get nothing.
Thanks.

It is possible to buy them, my sister did.... but yes, she was asked by Disney about which convention when she called to check on using them (her dates were during one of the hurricanes and the trip had to be postponed). Luckily, she knew about one that was in her field that was happening at the Orange County Convention Center and was able to give them that name...even though she was not attending. They used the tickets without problem. -HM

WDW can ask for convention ID when you use an admission tickey meant for meeting and convention-goers. However, in all the times that I have used convention tickets (as an attendee), I have never been asked at the gate to show any sort of ID. That doen't mean that it doesn't happen, it just never happened to me. But I always made sure that we had our convention badges with us just in case.

DiscountOrlandoVacation.com sells a 2- and 3-day Park Hopper w/ PI or DQ plus which is the the same as the ones that convention-goers get.

I don't know of anyone who sells the "after 2pm" or the 4- and 5-day Park Hopper w/PI & DQ pluses, other than the convention sites. Be aware that convention tickets are meant to be used within a certain number of days preceeding and following the actual event. They also expire 10 days following their first day of use and definitely must be used by Dec 30, 2005.

Actually that is where (DiscountOrlandoVacation.com) I saw the tickets I'm interested in. I'm interested in the 2 day hopper w/PI or DQ. It is the best deal I have seen. We will only be there 3 nights for Memorial Wkend. I don't want to be sold a ticket that Disney won't let me use. Has anyone bought from them before?

I have used convention tickets when I go meet my husband for his conventions and have never been asked to provide proof of attending a convention. Obviously they sell convention goers tickets for their families so I dont think they really check very hard. Not saying whether its morally right to do so though.... you have to decide that for yourself.

benebire and aka-mad4themouse, Thanks for your reply. I'm just seeking information. That's all. I'm not trying to pull anything over on WDW by purchasing these type of tickets. It's just that DiscountOrlandoVacation.com is selling them. I wondered if this vendor is reputable and if they buy them in bulk from Disney and w/ Disney's blessings to resell to would be buyers like me, a kind of "over-stocked" sale. I know there are scams on bad tickets. All I'm wanting to know is if it is ok to buy these tickets that are NOT advertised as convention tickets, but rather "limited" supply. Has anyone had any experience with this type of purchase?

I don't think you'll have a problem using them from DiscountOrlandoVacations.com. They aren't "convention" tickets.
The price for those tickets is actually quite a bit higher than the amount for the convention tickets that WDW sells themselves.
If the price works for you, go for it.

I used discountorlandovacations for my niece in March with no problem. In fact I picked up the tickets after office hours the evening I arrived at the hotel they list (Regency Express). The facility isn't all that close so unless you have a car I'd say get them mailed to you. Actual convention tickets would be cheaper but if you have a trip with limited time, don't want to go to a water park AND you want to park hop its cheaper than buying a two day hopper with plus option from Disney. What we did is hop two days and go to DQ and shop one day.

I bought the same tickets from D.O.V they seem to be the same offer as some
of the convention tickets I've seen online. (2 day hopper and disney quest)
I felt more comfortable buying from D.O.V than taking a chance. In regards to
D.O.V. they sent the tickets out right away. I would use them again.

Are these the same tickets that they sell on EBAY? They sell 2 and 3 day Park Hoppers with the PI/DQ option on EBAY 150, 200 at a time. Just wondering if this is the same kind of ticket...
