Can I bring wine to my hotel room?

I have packed a bottle of Vodka in my suitcase, You can find some in plastic bottles, and I put it in a plastic bag just in case. I have bought wine at WDW in the resort store. It may be a little more pricy then Goddings at Cross Roads Plaza, but it's a long walk from DTD to Goodings. Esp. if you are going in the hot months.

I am 56 & DH is 66. We have stayed at the DoubleTree DTD many times and walk to DTD & Goodings quite a few times during our trips. With all the walking you do in Disney it is really not that bad and it is a pleasant walk. We have gone there when we stayed on property too and as you can see we are not that young. I guess it all depends on whether you want to save the money or walk a little less.

I'm sure many know this already, but you can get bags (at many wine stores) to put your wine and other bottles in that will not leak if there's a problem with the bottle. Don't be like a friend of mine who packed his expensive scotch into his checked bag and got to his destination with a broken bottle and all his clothes smelling like a distillery!:rotfl2:

I've never seen these before. Good idea! We were thinking about using rumrunners.

We ordered beer and wine from gardengrocers.com to be delivered to our hotel. We also bought water, pop, breakfast cereal etc., but you can schedule it to be delivered at any time and they will leave it with the bell service if you're not there. Good luck and have fun!:cool1:

:lovestruc First off I'm in love with all of you on disboard! Every person on here is kind and knowledgeable!

I think my DW and I will be ordering wine online (wine.com) and shipping it to ourselves!

Yay!!!!

Now if only I could find a place to order cheap beer online! Any suggestions? Any other suggestions for wine online as well?

We bought a bottle of Kendall Jackson chardonnay at the POFQ gift shop last fall. It was about $18 per bottle. Still less than a glass at the resort bar or other restaurants but more convenient. I have also packed a bottle of wine in my suitcase (put in a plastic bag and well wrapped in clothes) without a problem.

Cellar360 is the least expensive website I have found after much research!
:hippie:

Be aware when you order wine online. There are these really weird laws about shipping wine from certain states to certain states. VA and NY are wine producing states so we're part of it. I know for instance, that I have a friend in Maryland who often orders wine. He has had to have me pick it up for him or sent to my home because it can't be shipped to Maryland from certain states. My county has a lot of wineries and one of the owners of one is working with congress people to help change the laws so that VA wineries can ship to its customers wherever they are. I have no idea if you or I could order wine online and have it shipped to Florida. Check on that first.

i always pack my trusty box o'wine in my suitcase and have never had a problem! we fly, too!

I won't have a fridge... just an ice bucket. :( I would have loved to bring a box of wine!

These work great! I have used them on many cruises and for that purpose they are undetectable by the scanners. I think the code to save 15% is repeat. They ship SUPER fast like 3 days from order they are at your door. You can also bring them by the pool which you can't with glass. I use the large ones for red wine.

You could also just get a good boxed wine and take it out of the box to travel. I like the wine cube. It is better than a lot of the cheap bottled wine and gets good reviews. I am assuming you mean red since there are no frigs at Pop.

This is good news! I didn't realize gardengrocer had beer. :confused3

what do you mean the code for 15% is repeat? The word REPEAT?

I used my resort refillable mugs for wine at the pool. It was red. I don't however remember what we put the wine bottle in to take it to the pool. ?? Maybe Tupperware pitcher.
