Can I book now for possible free dining next year?

Even though we leave for DW next week, I'm already thinking about planning our trip for next year. My question is the following:

If I book a package now for the end of August, 2009, and it happens that Disney announces at a later date that they will offer the free dining for that same period, can I then add it on to my package?

You can't book a package until they release 2009 rates. You can book a room but that is no guarantee that packages with free dining will be available when you decide to change.

You can book a future reservation 499 days out from your departure date.

2009 rates will be (should be) released in August, so you will book at at a 2008 rate (room-only) if you did it today and then they will change it for you when the rates are released (if there are any changes). You would have to change it to a package after 2009 rates are released.

You can certainly take advantage of free dining during your visit if it is offered again. Disney will not automatically change that part of the reservation for you. You would need to call when it is announced and have your reservation changed.
