Can I be in two DVC's at the same time?

We have a large group going, with multiple rooms but we will be the first to arrive, a day before all others. We wanted to spend the first night in a studio and have reserved the studio in our names and our son's name, as he will arrive on day 2 and assume occupancy there. Day 2, we planned to move over to a 2 bedroom that would also be reserved in our name. The reservation system, as I understand it, doesn't allow for partial stays in a room so I suppose, on paper, we would be in two rooms at the same time. Is that possible? Is there another way to do this?

It will likely cause a problem with your bands. You'll only be able to get in to one room with your bands and you'll need a card key to access the other room.

I wouldn't do it that way.

Last month I created a "second" me to be on my sisters room - just used a different shortening of my full name which then was a different "person" for MDE. That MB was only for my sisters room and the MB for the real me for park entry, entry to our room, etc. The CM agreed that was the best way to do it.

Ohhhh. That's a very good idea. So when I check in, my name doesn't have to match my ID exactly?

I just did a different "nickname" but also considered using my first initial instead of entire name. Either ought to be fine for check in. I had no trouble.

So simple, so brilliant. I have had a similar issue as the OP in the past and kept trying to think of an easy way around the MB problem and now I am sitting here kicking myself for never coming up with your solution.

I have wondered about a trip I have in May with this scenario. Should I change Fay(e)'s name? This is the case.

I have a 2 bedroom for 5 nights and there will be 6 gals in it for 3 of them. I have a studio for 2 nights and there will be 2 gals there. Fay will be in the studio for 2 nights ( she's best friends with the gal who could only come for 2 nights) and then she will join us in the 2 bedroom. When I made the reservation I could not have Faye in the 2 bedroom for only 3 nights, so I put her in for all 5. If I change her spelling on the 2 bedroom, will she then get 2 Magic Bands? One for each room? Will that affect her ability to get in a park?

Thank you.

Your park ticket is associated to your MDE profile and as long as you use a MB that is associated with that profile you can enter the park. Since room reservations also link to that profile that's where the confusion for MDE can happen since it seems you can't be set up to enter 2 rooms at the same time. What I would probably do for your scenario is adjust for Faye's name to be something different on the 2BR and get her MB's for both rooms. That 2BR MB won't be linked to her MDE with the tickets so she would continue to use the MB that she had for the studio for the parks. The second Faye would just be a guest on your profile and I wouldn't establish a full MDE account.

Or, another possibility if she wanted to do room charges for the entire stay might be for her just to get the MB for the studio and hopefully it would be set for that room and work for the first 2 nights. Then when she moved into the 2BR she would have to go to the front desk and get it reset to use on the 2BR, however being on the 2 rooms still might cause problems for MDE so I'd just be aware there might be some issues if you try that.
